This week's banner:
The "We Got Nothing" banner... in reality, it's a trap banner aimed at newer accounts that weren't around for FF3/4 banners.
A double rainbow banner with those units... really? At least the dailies are still free, I guess?
Another day, another off-banner gold. Haven't been able to pull an on-banner gold in weeks.
Good to see Bravely Default show up though on JP. I guess it's somewhat of a shame that Edea is a 4* base. Don't need to be giving Alim ideas about triple rainbow banners. Also, according to reddit, these units are going to carry over their Default/Brave mechanics to FFBE. Seriously doubt that Alim will let these units stockpile four turns and let them go all at once. That would be interesting, for sure.
EDIT: OMG, Brave Suit Agnes is being given away as a freebie Ramza/Lunera/Roy-light? ROFLOLOLOLOLOLOL /dead

with dark knight soul and brotherhood, his ATK should be around 975 or something and with Shikkoku +2 it will be at 100X

Yea. I have umm 5 or 6 Leon's. But I havent farmed it yet.
Also I dont want to equip Brotherhood and add Water element to DKC attacks. Better to go with non element weapons or in DKC case use GB + DB.
Changed few words in Reddit with Nazta. Nazta believes that in one week we get Ariana + Nier.

Talking seriously i really want to see how much mitigation buff gets saintly wall. Maybe with snow we can tank effectively the robot!
If you're seriously aiming for no 5* base, also consider King as your sacrifice. He's got auto-revive 50%. But he needs to have the highest atk in your party for him to take Aigaion's left shoryuken.

Not going to hold my breath, but I do have to admit that Cecil's unexpected awakening buff is intriguing.
That's one nice TM mage hat from Bravo Suit Agnes. 30 MAG/SPR + 15% HP? Yes, please. Heck, that might be usable on a tank for defensive purposes.
Dark element near-TM sword is also a nice plus.
For Fryevia users against Aigaion. I wonder how effective it will be to use an auto-revive units like Elza/Vargas/Maxwell/King instead of a tank+reraise. Equip MP refresh on them specially Maxwell since he uses 45mp per cast. Remaining slots are Tilith, Rikku, Buffer (Zarg, Lunera etc), Fryevia, friend Fryevia.

What a banner! Going all in........on not doing any pulls. 15 day vacation starts today so I probably won't be on here or playing much outside of TM farming maybe. Goodluck to the Robot people I won't have time to try until I get back.

Aw man, why did Magnolia have to get the 3*-5* treatment....dammit! She's my favorite little Ba'al Buster. Sprites look great though. Hope this one comes westward.

In that thread people are discussing their proposed setup and I am going to run it as follows, no tank but elza will tank by having highest attack and just spam her self rez. Tilith for Tilith things, Rikku for Rikku things aka group auto raise, Rem for dagger boomerang spam, re-raise back up, dps, and heals, my soon to be OP Fryevia and hopefully a friend Fryevia unit.
Thoughts?
For Aigon I was thinking of double Aileen with fire weapons, Tillith, Ace (-75% Fire imperil + mana regen), High attack Elza to take the big hits and auto revive and Zargabaath for buffs and mana.
I have to decide which one will be a friend unit. Somebody will probably share a Tillith or Elza.

I just followed a strat guide from reddit and it wasn't too bad. Do you have minfilia, snow and cecil? You just have to be disciplined in keeping your buffs up.
I think your team is perfect.
1. Elza breaks Aigaion's SPR, Rem can Reraise Elza.
2. Elza Self Reraise for 3 turns, then repeat step 1.
3. Rem can deal damage with Frye while Spr break is still up, otherwise repeat step 1.
4. Tilith and Rikku just do their thing.

No Ringabell? Garbage Bravely banner! ;p Didn't play second so only recognize the three of them though I'm familiar with Mangolia being it it from the little chunk you play after the ending of Default.
Finally beat Echidna last night but I totally spaced there was a mission for no items and used an ether on Tidus when she drained his MP right away at the start of the fight :| Also, got screwed on the esper kill I was so close to killing her with an esper that WoL's counter attack finished her off.... I'll have to decide if I want to bother with it again for the Mag 30%. I suppose it shouldn't be bad at all going with 6 units next time. I could get Rikku in and between her LB and elemental resistance, would be much easier. Also, I didn't realize Zarga's skill only lasts a single turn so I'd make sure to spam that through the whole fight. I'll save it for when there's a lull in what to spend NRG on.
So how bad is Ultros and Typhon? Do you need a special setup for it?
Also, yeah, banner blows but I'll be happy if my buddy gets some of those units from his dailies. Oh, and new story, yay!

Man even though I kind of expected it, this week's news was a bit of a letdown. And that banner is awful. Honestly, the Chambers being open is a bit meh, I'd be more interested in dunes and Gill snappers both being open...
At least there's some more story coming! Really though, a disappointing way to end an otherwise fantastic anniversary month.

You could add Queen to that list lol. She has auto refresh and hers only costs 20mp. Though she won't have much use when she doesn't need to use auto revive.

Yeah, it's pretty lame that they're pulling this filler for the final stretch of free dailies. Nice for new players but deliberately trying to hose veterans on getting good pulls ;p What day do the free dailies end again? I don't recall when they started exactly.

Oh ok. Are they pretty good now? My buddy new to the game says his obstacle is gil for leveling people up at the moment so this could be perfect for him. I'm still so bummed he couldn't get 5k lapis in time for the guaranteed banner
28th sounds right to me but I can't remember if it's actually 28 days and I don't think we began on the first of the month.

Was able to get a couple more rewards from Echidna so Fryevia is now up to 800 Magic. 2x Magical Crests + L&A should get me up to 860 and I think that's about as high as I can get.

Going where every pretentious Ohioan goes. South Carolina lol. Charleston and Hilton Head specifically.
Ultros and Typhon ELT is pretty rough - I still haven't beaten it, but I've been thinking about it a bunch. I don't know that any special setup will help a lot besides having a beefy (preferably provoke) tank, but here's what I expect you'll want (based this mostly on the wiki, but also on my tries of it)
-elemental resist buff (earth and water more, but possibly fire and wind while you're at it if it's easier to do CoD or Marie's all-elements one)
-ATK break for Ultros (e.g. Crush Weapon)
-Some way to dispel breaks on your party (e.g. Bushido)
-don't use fire, lightning, ice (trigger special retaliation)
-some way to do wind damage (prevents Typhon from snorting party members if you use it when he takes a breath)
-probably Demon Killer on DPS to take down Typhon as fast as possible in round 2
Typhon's attack will often one-shot anyone who isn't a pretty beefy tank, and you'll get dispelled every few turns so make sure you have a good way to reapply especially the defense buffs.
In round 2 you'll want to kill Typhon first.

Forgot that I have Imperial Helm. So 4 more to ATK, still cant break 1000 ATK tomorrow.
In JP it was Raid that dropped Nier unit Moogles. Nier units are exclusive to that banner. Thus banner goes away, can't pull. (Same as BF banner Tilith etc).

Looks like my four Xons are doing a lot of grinding over the weekend.
Tomorrow one of my DKC turns into a suicide bomber... The other will have to wait another couple months until I grind all the power g-cryst all over again.
Edit: make that until the weekend since I can grind out guaranteed g-cryst from the story event.

True, I guess if anything it's a good opportunity to get a second Cecil and work on another Excalibur for Agrias whenever she gets her upgrades. Doubt I'll touch any resources though since I wanna save up for Cloud.

Also there is theory that those new units might be in raid gacha or as raid rewards. But obviously we don't know for sure before datamines / Gumi announces it.
My guess is that Ariana + Nier Raid starts in one week. After King Mog leaves (event ends Friday but KM store stays ~1 week).
Also remember that 10+1 is generic banner pull. Obviously there is a chance to get Nier unit's but not higher rate. Don't use that 10+1 before Nier event is live (When ever it is).
Yeah, for most of us that banner is trolling for sure. Lame way to end freebie pulls. But we need to think about those new players.
