[JP] Started doing Raid yesterday. Weekends are just usually so busy with work and all. But, got it started and working on list. Not even caring about ranking or anything. Just trying to get what I can in the list of goodies. Plus whatever raid summon will give me. The Cactaur right now are awesome. Capped 5* Tidus yesterday. Working on trying to cap 5* Onion Knight now.

Decided with Moogles on there that I'm going to get Camille's for Tidus. After that maybe Tidus sword? Or OKs? Not sure. Got a long way to go on Cammy's though. Hoping to craft some of these Raid weapons to help my scrubs in mean time. I'm only on the second island in-game right now and first place on it. LOL. Haven't gotten far. I'm in shop scrub gear still.

However, loving the 10 tickets they gave us this morning.. and HOLY OMG... I didn't realize they had like Mega crystals for Espers. The ones we got this morning went from 1* Siren Lv 9 to 2* Siren Lv 39. Nothing small to finish off level. But will help my healer in mean time.

Free pull was Rakshasa. I felt like home on GL @ that point. But decided to do half pull for Bravely Default folks, since their Moogles show up in Raid pulls. Gold off the bat. Thinking would be sweet to get an on banner unit... Wind Veritas. Whelp.

You should consider leveling Camille as well if you get enough cacs. She chains with Tidus so if you don't have anyone on your FL with him you have a chaining duo.

I actually really want to get OK. I have so many on my friends list and he works well with my team as he can use a fire chaining attack without needing a fire weapon, making every OK useful to me. I have Camille leveled up as I have quite a few Tidus' and a few Aileen. Just need an Agrias for Orlandu chaining.

I know what you mean. Without an op friend I have to work so hard to do elite raid (though that's partly due to the fact it keep aoe dispelling at the start of the turn rather than the end). It's both fun and frustrating at the same time lol.

Man, I saw the 5 news items today and was hoping it'd be Nier, but nah. I'll probably do a 10+1 on this banner just to scratch the itch, but none of those units are jumping out at me. Some of the TMs are nice, but they wouldn't really add anything to my lineup. Hell, I don't even have Orlandu yet, so enhanced Agrias doesn't even do me any favors.

After tickets, quartz, and event equipment, I might actually skip this mog king for the first time ever to farm crysts and TM. I found out when I fully enhanced Ace that I'm actually way lighter on the smaller crysts than I expected I'd be.

So, apparently on reset today... this game didn't lock the Vortex stuff. So EXP remains open but the random amount of minutes it shows I have left change. Try to do it and it errors out saying that it's ended. But it won't lock it so I can use that as my daily to unlock it. So, I guess today I am effectively locked out of doing any EXP Vortex. What. The. Crap. This sucks.

I'm very disappointed at the FFIV news we got today. After the awesome FFIX banner I was expecting most older FF units to get exciting upgrades, but it seems clear that won't be the case. I don't mind Young Rydia much since, at least, she's a character from the game and actually playable. This new Kain though... All they needed for a true FFIV banner was include the characters that are remaining (Yang, Fusoya, the twins, Cid) and upgrade the most notable existing ones (Rydia, Kain, Rosa, Golbez). New versions are fine but not like this, leaving Rydia and Kain in the 5* hell.

I hope the rest of the FF games don't get this treatment and get actual good upgrades for existing characters along new ones. I'm expecting some terrible alts for FFVI now...

This FFIV event is the defense of Fabul, so it doesn't make sense to jump ahead and release After Years characters. They still have tons of room to do in standard FFIV and can upgrade the other chars to 6-star as well.

Golbez is probably getting his 6-star when Fusoya comes.

Pulling on this banner gives you a 1.18% chance of getting Meliadoul or Orran. Spending 300 lapis on increasing your item slots by 15 may have a significantly higher chance of benefitting your account.

Pulling on this banner is, ultimately, unlikely to give you a concussion. But when you wake up seven days from now and wonder what you got for your 1750 lapis, you may well voluntarily bash your head into a wall and cause one yourself.

Pulling on this banner has a 2,250% increased 5* rate for Gumi employees and Hippo still said 'Get behind me, Satan,' on his way out of the break room.

Does Gumi intentionally manipulate difficulty and pull rates for individual players? 
I've read that this practice is commonplace in the micro-transaction mobile game market these days. (e.g. lower or prevent a known whale's chances of pulling a rainbow crystal to make them spend more money, 
and once they spend 'enough' and/or there's a risk of alienating them from the game, then give them one or more good pulls/runs to keep them interested/hooked. 
Same for F2P or dolphins to get them to spend money)

As someone who pulls a shit ton, that is probably on a list somewhere, and who has had its share of very bad luck, I would still say that the rates are solid 1% for rainbows with 50/50 on banner units (0.5% banner) for my account looking as an aggregate over last several thousand of my pulls.

There is no evidence to suggest that Gumi intentionally lowers/or raises rates based on someone's spending on an account. Even though, when luck is bad, I'd like to think that Gumi does.

There's definitely more than just the top layer going on in gacha games. I bought a 99 dollar pack in another gacha game once and immediately got a friend invite from a hot babe on FB (which was tied to the game and secure so that only friends could view my profile).

Not sure they'd purposely screw rates for whales, but they definitely study them.

I've actually tracked my own pulls, and out of last ~1,500 pulls I've gotten exactly 18 rainbows (not including guaranteed or 4*/5* EX tickets). This includes my disastrous Lunera pull. This makes it around 1.2% for a rainbow; which could be attributed to the higher probability of the 10+1 pull.

So from my anecdotal evidence, there doesn't seem to be any modification in rates from what has been discussed in Reddit.

I'm positive that the reason Gumi requires FB, and doesn't offer an alternative, is because they can collect user data. I'm also sure they collect data on whales and determine things like demographics, occupation, etc from their FB account.

The account that I use on FB is fake (I actually don't even have a real FB account), I haven't noticed any hot girls trying to friend me, but I wouldn't be surprised if they used that tactic.

That's a pretty neat idea. I'd be curious to know what my overall rate is, but that's not something I ever would've thought to do when I started (baby's first gacha). I definitely feel luckier than average though so I'm not complaining! I had horrible luck until around Noctis came out, I was really struggling back in the Chiz/Bartz/Vaan Barrage/FB meta.

I had decent luck (4 rainbows, 3 5* bases) in the 6-ish months before I gave this game money. I've gotten a lot more rainbows in the subsequent six months, but we've also been given a lot more resources. Reverse-engineering shifting rates is basically impossible so without solid proof it just comes down to faith. I think they aren't manipulating the rates, and that's enough for now. If I didn't think that I probably wouldn't be playing.

I'm so proud of my JP team, everything is coming up so nicely lately. I took the day off to waste all stamina on some trials, took care of the Dark Espers, Ultros/Typhoon, Ultimate Dark Chimera and Ultimate White Dragon.

I missed a couple of the rewards but it doesn't matter that much right now, with a couple of HP/elemental materias I'll be able to handle them better in the near future.

It will come - it took me 8 months to finally get Noctis, the ONE unit I wanted for so long, and in the back of my mind hoped would pop out.

Now, I don't use him all that much. For banners like this one, they will always be in the pool. Best to save any resources for limited banners, or a banner that doesn't have the shittiest rates and mostly poor unit selection. Maybe that 10+1 ticket will be your lucky day!

A bunch of people rolled accounts about a month ago, don't think anybody prolific has joined very recently. If you want to start, get the QooApp on Android (from the browser, not the app store) and download JP Exvius through that. Reddit has a guide on rerolling if you want to go through that process. I imagine the increased activity is from the new GL banner being a crap-fest and the FFIV announcements on the JP side.

Yeah a few of us rerolled last month because they had a free 10+1, and you get 5000 lapis at the beginning and CG Fina was on the banner. I got CG Fina and Sakura on my reroll, and since then have pulled CG Laswell, Lunera, Lulu, Merc Ramza, Gilgamesh, Gabranth, and most recently Agnes. Not all of those are good but that's the same amount of rainbows I've had in a year of GL lol. It's quite fun as it feels like a completely different game because I'm using different units/mainly year 2 units.

I think the only way to do so is with the code system that you use to transfer accounts and reroll. I'm not sure how long those codes last or if they're permanent. I have mine written down if they are.

Actually yeah I would like to know this too lol. I would prefer not to lose my account at this point.

Positive side is, it's another 11 tickets for the Nier Banner, plus whatever additional I can round up in the next two weeks. The portal rewards should be 3 more, the Raid itself should have 4 + 4* one. So, ideally, I should be able to net 60+

Another good side is, this is going be the best Mog King in a while. Most should be walking in with 300-400% to begin with. Shame the banner isn't split.

I did the JP thing once for fun, but it's not something I'd ever stick with. Got Noctis, Ace, Lightning, Lunera and Light Veritas as 5*s with the initial free stuff. Very generous and the rainbow rate feels very apparent (even more reason to hoard my 150+ tickets)

I did it once when they had the 3 5k banners... pulled Lightning and that was my only notable unit, quit, delete, won't look back~
