I'm sure this will be added there via an update at the same time. This is just them saying that they're introducing the feature with these versions.
I think it's pretty cool. These cheats are optional, all the later FF re-releases add similar cheats whenever they come to other platforms.
Also, it's refreshing to see these in-game rather than being paid DLC like the kind of shit EA pulls off.

I'm still annoyed they never updated the PS4 version of X | X-2 with those options when every other platform got them on their releases.

Well I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the main story path on normal mode is already pretty smooth sailing, and if you are struggling, you can already swap to both easy mode + classic combat mode which already trivializes the game, I feel like that should be enough for even very casual gamers. Plus, even as a disabled gamer, I kinda dislike the trend of completely eliminating any and all challenge from games. Part of the thrill is overcoming that epic boss.
On the other hand, this is a AAA single player game, where story and characters are a primary aspect, and if this helps even more casuals enjoy it, it's not really hurting anybody as nobody has to use it. Plus people like us can use it as a fun cheat mode after we have completed the game.
If they're going to do this though, they need to patch it into part 2, that game has some bullshit.

I always see features like these as almost an admission by the devs that the game they are selling is trash/badly designed.
if a large enough group of people actually wants to use any of these, to make it worth implementing and promoting, you failed as a game designer.
because this is different than a cheat that you have to look up, and might never knew existed... this is presented like a selling point here.

Its not a bad idea to release this as a way for people to catch up on the story. That way you maximize the player base for part 3. I respect the hustle.

SE treating PS as second-class users as a payback for poor Rebirth sales on PS5 is my risky guess.
Potentially, there are more PS5 Pro users interested in a Pro patch for Remake than the entire Xbox/Switch userbase interested in the game itself lol. Part 3 sales split by platform are gonna be reaaally interesting.

Just an fyi for the ultra gamers here who are the best at video games. Final Fantasy has had these sort of settings for a while now.
FF16 has rings that make the game extremely easy
FFX-HD has the same, I think first introduced on the Vita
FF15 has Carbuncle that revives Noctis and prevents game overs.

As someone with limited time... I love this. I would never re-experience this story, re-play a game like this that takes HOURS, without this kind of mode.
On original FF7, I had multiple memory cards with many saves at many key story points, having grinded and leveled up very high before making the save. Just to better facilitate a future story-only playthrough.

I don't believe so, at least not without mods. The post makes it sound like the Steam version won't have it either, only "Xbox on PC"
Maybe a little concerned that Trophy Whores being bigmad about Rebirth's breadth and difficulty of the postgame content, that they will scale back that in the third one.
