It sounds like it does lead to some type of hybrids and they just haven't felt the need to include any in the storyline, I'm sure once one appears, there will be tons in the backgrounds of cities suddenly.

No, no, no. Raubahn is the only GC leader who isn't absolutely useless or dumb. You take this back.

In my own headcanon, my character isn't a cross with anything. His species merely descended from wolves, and followed a very similar evolutionary path with humans. Yes that's a bit convoluted, don't question it! XD
AAAaaaanyway, cross-species hybrids such as this has bugged me since Star Trek, but at least XIV races all exist on the same planet.
If it gets weird enough, maybe SE will give us another Extreme Primal before expansion.

How long it takes to level depends entirely on how often you play it and what you do with your time. It's really hard to put an estimation on it. I assume you haven't made it all the way through the story yet? I'd say it would take you 3 or 4 days playing flat out to get to 50.
As for SCH or SMN, it depends entirely on whether you want to be a healer or DPS. SCH is a healer and SMN is a DPS. You'll have shorter dungeon queue times as SCH so it would be faster, but it depends on what you want to play.
I don't know an exact time but you can stay scholar to level. Cleric stance will keep you doing enough damage to anything in the storyline and as a scholar you will always get into any dungeon you want instantly if leveling through story is too slow for you.

Thanks. Can you cue for a dungeon as a scholar while playing as a summoner? Is the flag tied to your character or current job?

I don't think you can disappoint zero expectations.
Whatever job you queue as has to be the one that accepts. You can always switch to correct job before accepting though, plenty of time...
