Final Fantasy XV Gamescom Active Time Report - CNN reporting live from disaster scene

FFXV, the story of a fucked up development doomed cause of the illusion of what it should have been 8 years before.. it looks like a ghost horror story.

People said it was going to be a mess and that's what it looks like at this very moment.

Can someone post the photo of Hajime Tabata drinking beer? I've seen it in one of these FFXV threads and am having trouble tracking it down.

The story of XV's development will be more interesting than the actual game's story. I hope someone releases a tell-all (and the game's worth of deleted assets and story ideas).

Yups, I call BS

Noctis-and-Stella-final-fantasy-versus-xiii-19853344-320-179.gif

One scene, Stella's schmoozing with Noctis at a party, the other, she's running with a concerned expression on her face then sees Noctis, brandishes her rapier and strikes a pose agatinst Noctis's pose. That's ALL there is to Stella. What Nomura said about her being a strong character is talk, just like Tabata saying Luna is a strong. Other than that, both of them, there's really nothing more to either of them at the moment.

So far they've shown two scenes with Luna:

#1 - Luna sitting at a table in Altissia
#2 - Luna as a kid getting attacked by a soldier

In both cases, she doesn't seem to be doing something out of her own free will. Instead, she's simply forced to react. Granted, these are merely two scenes and the actual context may be completely different, but she doesn't give off the best impression.

Tabata mentioned in the ATR earlier that Regis was changed as a result of the changed plotline, I think.

1. Sitting in a chair is just that, sitting in a chair. She's awaiting Noctis, that we know, but to what context this meeting will hold is still a mystery. They are to be married, but is that the "full extent" of the arrangement? Is it so "clear" an objective, or is there more than meets the eye?

2. Kids are worthless, er, all those who let themselves be bullied and overpowered by a full-grown adult. No wonder Hyne found it so easy wiping them out, and why Freddy Krueger racked up the kills on Elm Street. I'll just say it like this, the majority of us, at that age, would probably get bitchslapped just as hard(or even harder) by an adult man in heavy armor.

She doesn't seem weak or in need of saving in the artwork at the end of Episode Duscae, though. She's all fucked up, but still going on instead of sitting and crying. Holding what could possibly be a key item she needs to deliver to Noctis (?)

She looks like a survivor.

Okay, now I'm getting really tired of everyone being dramatic and overreacting whilst making billions of assumptions.

I'm really getting tired of Tabata's reasoning for all these changes....

Basically there are 0 reasons for him to be taking out characters or let alone making clones of the same character with a different name to replace the old one. He is self inserting himself so hard in this game that it should be considered borderline rape. If the new trailer isn't proof enough of his self-inserting, anything to do with Luna/Stella is.

I miss Nomura's vision of this game... That's the game I wanted. ._.

Er... how do you know Tabata had 0 reason? Do you think he just likes to make his life harder for fun?

Self-inserting? In what way? He was tasked as the new director and is now trying his best to make XV into the best game that's actually possible to release.

Borderline rape? Was that even necessary? You're just being overdramatic at this point.

Can Tabata and his team really blame us for our assumption? I mean we first saw this

and then we saw this
PXaFF4n.gif

When people thought that the character was still Stella no one complained because we assumed that something like the first gif would still be there.

*Notices thread title*

LOL what happened? That the game still seems 4352512 years away = disaster? Just trying to get handle on the situation.

The ATR itself was a disaster.

Her role as the arranged spouse, touching her chest, new hair.less battles.comprasions to the old Stella.

But its all appareances and speculation for now.

But arranged spouse means nothing about her character. In fact, doesn't that mean that she doesn't necessarily dedicates her own desires torwards a man, and is only marrying him because it is her job to do so? Stella loved Noctis out of her own will, she depends more on a male love interest to build her character than Luna.

It could still mean that she's just the prize waifu as well, while Stella was a woman who went after the man she wanted out of her own will, but arranged marriage or not says nothing. People will choose to interpret this however they see fit.

I'll agree with "then why don't you show her doing the stuff you say she does?", though.

Making Luna look like Stella in that art isn't really helping the whole situation regarding the change.

She always looked like Stella, so much that people still believed it was just a slight design change and she was still Stella, until the devs confirmed that wasn't the case. It's not making her look like Stella in that art specifically, she just looks like Stella period.

"As for the mysterious girl, Tabata confirmed that it's Luna (who replaced a previous character named Stella). Luna is one of Noctis' childhood friends, and while she may look similar to Stella, Tabata insists she's got a stronger personality. "She's a much stronger, more determined character," Tabata says. "She's got her own willpower and objectives that she acts upon. In some ways, Noctis is the weaker character. Maybe he's the one who's going to need protecting." Tabata made sure to bring out the vulnerability, but also the defiance in Luna's eyes when she gets pushed in the trailer to showcase this aspect of her."

Is Tabata trolling?

Tabata, you're saying the right things re: Luna, but I wanna see the receipts!

Tabata's track record with female characters in the past hasn't been the best, which is why people are a bit paranoid. I've personally still never gotten over Aya's treatment in The 3rd Birthday. (It isn't like Nomura is leagues better, mind you, but it seemed like he was trying something new with Stella, at least. It's pretty depressing, Nomura forgets women exist, whilst Tabata remembers, but then sticks them in creepy voyeuristic scenes.)

People said it was going to be a mess and that's what it looks like at this very moment.

It only "looks like a mess" because the game was revealed too damn early, the changes that typically happen behind the scenes are just happening in front of our eyes. People are overreacting somethin fierce, ya'll should just calm down.

People aren't being given the reasoning for these changes and thus they assume they are for no reason, when instead they just don't want to tell us the reason for these changes. Changes like these are things that are usually explained after the game has actually come out.

He could had just took Stella and gave her the same role Luna had. -_-

Literally no reason.

Look at the 2 minutes of cuddling, the changes the characters and world. He is making this his angsty pubescent desire. If you ever read other people's writing you'd understand. *The 2nd Ghost Rider movie is a good example of self insertion with the one teenage boy.*

That sounds good! I actually thought about this before and how interesting that would be.

Tabata said Stella was a weak character? Oh, come on, E3 scene shows Stella holding Noctis's hand and running and Her quote implies she is strong and active girl.
i have no idea Why he always downplays the previous works of VSXIII.

stella fandom is the weirdest thing ever

Her potential was really great. Even if it was squandered in the actual game(which we will never know), what i've seen of her for the past 10 years was much more appealing than what i see of Luna now.

And Tabata may change my mind in the full game. But what he shows now of the game and her doesn't really inspire any optimism.

I want him to surprise me with this game, but we don't even have nailed down concepts, or a solid year for release date, along with the performance at this stage even at 900p, its looking rough in more than a few ways.

It only "looks like a mess" because the game was revealed too damn early, the changes that typically happen behind the scenes are just happening in front of our eyes. People are overreacting somethin fierce, ya'll should just calm down.

People are not the one to blame though. They revealed the game. And they did it cause they were fucking late after a dev hell and they had to. The situation they are in, is the result of their own choices.

1. Exactly, it's just sitting in a chair and that's also my problem with it. I mean, if you want me to believe that your character is strong and independet, let them do something significant and show me that instead of a pretty character model.

2. Seems like a nice opportunity to actually show that Luna is independent and not afraid to stand up for her beliefs. I mean, yeah, I get the point: They want to juxtapose Luna's and Noctis's upbringing, but that's not how you introduce a strong character.

I just have a hard time believing that Luna is this incredibly strong person that Tabata wants us to believe she is from what they've shown so far. Surely there must be a better way to introduce her to us instead of those two scenes.

In truth no one honestly really knows lol.

The problem with today was that the game had yet another cryptic and unclear PR media session after 9 years.

We all came in expecting a substantial trailer and pieces of info and instead its just more very minor snippets of conceptual information that leaves people second guessing and going mad.

Pretty good encapsulation. I'm glad you've decided to stay among the living!

I'm pretty sure Tabata has access to the game's script. But if you prefer believe Luna is weak based on nothing, then go on ahead.

I know it's the internet and all but my post was meant to be humorous, friend. lol

Of course I don't think he's lying but the contrast in what we see and what Tabata says is legitimately funny.

At this point, why is anyone believing Tabata? He is downplaying Versus XIII so subtlety, and he lied from the day he showed up as director up until recent moments. Ask me if I have to prove if he lied since TGS 2014 till today.
He seen all the script and everything by now, but even if he knows the old script it doesn't mean he has to tell us.

If Nomura's TRUE vision is to be realized, no she didn't. Well, at least NOT like you think. That's why I always called bullshit on the whole "Romeo & Juliet" crap. They were meant to be good friends and there was never meant to be a romance between them. If anything, that looks like something they might actually be changing. They might've chiseled a romance sub-plot into XV that wasn't originally in Versus. Nomura seemed more interested in expanding the deep bonds between friends(Noctis and buds as well as Noctis and Stella). And this is someone giving Luna the benefit of the doubt.

stella fandom is the weirdest thing ever

This won't stop until Nomura makes Stella Returns: Final Fantasy XV, where Stella is the main character on is on a quest to save every FFXV character except New!Regis and Luna (because she's the final boss) and take them to the real world of the Versus epic.
I would totally buy that game :P

The level of apology for this game is mind-numbing. I mean come on - this game was announced in 2006. Just because it changed hands in 2012/13 doesn't mean anything. They essentially reworked 6 years of input/work and came up with something that from the LOOKS of it, is even worse. This isn't overreaction, if anything people aren't reacting with the animosity that I would expect.

Exactly. I'll post this again:

Can you even imagine the kind of meltdown that would go on if that change happened in front of our eyes instead of just getting to know it long after it was already done?

I still really wish we got the original Rufus design though, looks cool as fuck, they could reuse him as a new character.

People are not the one to blame though. They revealed the game. And they did it cause they were fucking late after a dev hell and they had to. The situation they are in, is the result of their own choices.

Completely agree with that.

Are you sure they were just meant to be friends? That's actually news to me.

When can I buy this?

That sounds good! I actually thought about this before and how interesting that would be.

I agree, it sounds really good. I think they are purposely downplaying Luna. It's kind of unfair to judge her based on trailers, I'm gonna wait till I play the game, I'm sure she's a badass who will grow with the plot XD;

Thats easily the worst character design change Ive seen, surprised they never made that design dlc.

I would definitely be more hyped for this than the current whatever we have

Final Fantasy XV |OT| Reach out to the star

For all we know honestly that scene with the fight could be mind-control plot or something. That'd be awkward!
