Wasn't really planning on it actually. I was still waiting for it to drop to 50, but I was really bored and bummed tonight cause I have to fly back to school tomorrow(yea i missed a few days this week big deal) plus I have a fever so you could say Im not thinking straight, so I went downstairs and busted out the N64. Put in Mario Kart and realized what an awsome game it is/was. Man, the memories of playing this with my best friend and brother late at night back in days. Ohh good times. I think that was like..6 years ago maybe? Time really flys by damnit. I feel old. Well anyways, I remembered reading on GA that there was a sale with the GC Mario Kart bundle + 1 free game. So I figured, ahh what the hell, might as well get it as long as i get Mario Kart and another game for free. So, I got a GC, Mario Kart, and Mario Sunshine for 107.somthing shipped. Not too shabby.

REmake, Re0, fzero are on THE list. More money to blow. Yaay. Only other game Im waiting for on GC is Zelda as far as I know. RE4 looks good,I was more excited when it had the old look. O well. I finally own all 3 current gen consoles, although the shitstation broke down a while ago.

I guarantee you will be 100% satisfied with your GameCube. You will soon discover a wonderful world of imagination and joy... the world of Nintendo.

Congatulations.

Actually I did get Zelda:Wind Waker back when it came out. I was pretty pumped about it. Got the guide, extra zelda 64 thing, and free wallscroll. Borrowed my friends GC and played it. Was really really dissapointed with it so I ebayed it all. Really looking forward to the new Zelda tho.

What didn't you like about Wind Waker and what gives you hope that this new Zelda will be any better? It's had around the same dev time as Wind Waker.

I didn't like Majoras Mask and I didn't like WW. I really didnt like the sailing in WW and call me a bitch, but I couldn't get into WWs art style. Nice graphix and all, just didn't work for me. I've been waiting for a true OoT sequel since I beat i, I know the story in WW kinda follows OoT, bu Im talking about the aesthetic feeling I got from OoT. Hard to explain. I have faith that Nintendo will get it right this time though...and if they don't, then I'll make myself like it :D

I share some of those feelings. I liked Wind Waker enough to finish it and feel good about playing it. But not enough to suggest it to others.

Congrats for picking up the most underappreciated console this generation. I tried out Mario Power Tennis this weekend. I'll surely pick this one up later down the road. Mario Golf, Metroid Prime 1-2, Viewtiful Joe 2, Pikmin 2, Smash Brothers, Alien Hominid. Tales of Symphonia and Baiten Kaitos if you're into RPG's.

Buying Nintendo stuff, that's money well spent.

If you see death run away from him,

Great choice in getting sunshine

My recommendations
Zelda WW
Resi evil remake (you are already getting it)
Starwars: Rogue Leader
Animal Crossing
SSBM (if you play multiplayer)

On top of what's already been recommended, if you like oldschool RPGs, and never owned a DC, I highly recommend you pick up Skies of Arcadia Legends.

you will be rewarded in 2005!

Though I agree with and own pretty much all of these titles, 50+ games is quite a lot to digest for someone who just bought the system! I'm only at like 70 or 80, and I've had the system for 3 years now.

Still though, buy all of these.

Staleness..........is not an option.

ummm.... has anyone mentioned getting a Wavebird???? One of my FAV things about my cube.... a wireless controller that actually works... LOVE IT!!!

:D

Thanks for the recomendations guys.

This is the list of titles you should have for your Gamecube by the end of it's life:

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
F-Zero GX (PC)
Resident Evil 4
TLOZ: The Wind Waker (PC)
TLOZ VII
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Wave Race: Blue Storm
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Fire Emblem
Ikaruga
Unity

EDIT: Forgot the last 2

2005 belongs to the cube, and anybody who says otherwise should be shot. *Shoots someone* Okay, my old revolver still works.

I've seen a lot of recommendations for F-Zero GX in this thread, and I feel like I should offer a slightly different point of view...

Most of the time, the game can be really good. There's a lot to do and unlock, the controls are (mostly) tight, and there's a good level of challenge... However...

Don't play it if you can't deal with frequent race-ending bugs. I got the game in June or so, and I usually play it for a few hours before getting frustrated with the game's glitchy physics and giving up for a month or so. I keep coming back, because when the game isn't screwing you over, it's pretty fun. Here's just a few of the more common random things you can expect to happen...

- Sometimes if you do a sideswipe attack, your craft will be inexplicably thrown up and to the side (and turned upside down!), which almost always chucks you off the track, forcing a restart of the race. I've had this happen on curves, hills, and even big flat uneventful pieces of track.

- Sometimes bumping into a wall will cause an identical reaction to the above problem. So instead of just bouncing off and losing a little speed and health, you're just randomly tossed off the track. There's absolutely no consistency to it, but it's happened often enough to completely wreck half an hour of work and require you to start the circuit over.

- There are even times where you can pass right through walls that are supposed to keep you on the track.

There's other random things that have happened, but they're not nearly as frequent as those, which, if I had to guess, happen in around two out of every five races.

The game i'm looking forward to the most is Fire Emblem, naturally. Hopefully it'll be leagues better than the GBA games. Right now it looks pretty, but that's not all that counts.
I'm not much of a gamer anymore, I'd probably pick up the new Zelda and Harvest Moon for girls if that comes out here, but overall I'm satisfied with the gamecube (as a casual gamer).

You might want to check your disc (and possibly your Gamecube) for damages. I've put a lot of hours into F-Zero GX and I've not once experienced one of those problems. It's even more suspicious since you never hear anybody else talking about these problems. Something is wrong with your game.

Same here, those things never happened to me.

Just checked the tracking info.

Much like 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 were all the "Year of the Cube" as well, right?

Get um... I dunno. The only GCN game I have and love is Mario Kart, hate the others... Wasted $ for me.
