hey guys, my family and I are taking a couple week roadtrip from Seattle all the way down California this August. We're takin our Dodge Minivan, but it doesn't have a cd deck. I was checkin prices and such at bestbuy.com.....my range is anything under $200. Anyone have any good suggestions as far as which brand to go with, and any features that set one apart from another? Thanks in advance...

I have always had good luck with JVC car decks. I used to have just a regular CD deck from JVC and was very surprised by the sound it put through my stock speakers... I upgraded last year to an MP3 model from them and the sound is great as well. They both featured a sound ehancement thing called "LOUD" and it makes a huge difference in the feel of the music.

if you're looking at under $200, you aren't gonna get a ton of great features, but you should be able to get a pretty good setup. I've had pretty good experiences with JVC and Kenwood. My brother has a Sony that he says is great. Go to Bestbuy and Circuit City, they have a ton of sets ranging from $100-200, and if you get lucky you might catch them on a "free installation with purchase" deal.
