Finding out someone is a huge racist...

So I decided to go out a bar with some friends the other day, and a few new people I'd never met before came along. Needless to say, we all got really drunk. One of the new girls in our group was super hot. Boing-a-loing-like hotness. She seemed really cool too. Then, it all went to shit.

While walking home a car with some black fellows drives by. This girl starts going OFF... yelling the dreaded n-word at the top of her lungs, ect... "Those ******* looked at me funny! Get those ******* off our streets!" Then a cop whirls around the corner and chases after the car.

I'm standing there thinking, "why is that cop pulling them over?" She was standing there cheering the cop on like she was at a football game...

Thus, I slowly backed off the sidewalk in an attempt to distance myself from the apparent Klu Klux Klan member and disappeared into the night toward my apartment. I didn't make it though. I passed out in some grass and was awoken by a cop an hour later asking me if I was okay.

I've never seen such rabid racism before in my life though. Really freaked me out. Anyways, what should I do if I see this chick again? Just avoid her like the plague?
 
When I ran into this situation a month or so ago, I just cut off all contact with the person. They may try to apologize or whatever, but usually people like that won't be around when the shit hits the fan, and then you're left hanging.

Yes, haha. I was walking next to a strip mall and just thought I'd lay down for a sec in the soft grass (bad idea). Woke up to a cop poking me with his night stick. He goes, "You okay there?" I asked him where my apartment complex was. He laughed said it was two blocks over. Then I realized where I was and walked the rest of the way.

I remember almost everything, even when I'm drunk.
 
I avoid them however I can. Whether it's just trying not to see them at all, or if forced, basically avoid conversation.

My family unfortunately inherited some disgraces to humanity when my grandfather remarried. His second wife's kids and grandkids are just scummy. We were watching football one Thanksgiving and her son-in-law just starts ranting about how blacks are the missing link to apes and all this shit. I don't think any of us said anything, and I just walked out of the room.

It just makes me sick knowing these people even exist.
 
Yeah I wont even excuse that kind of racism. Its not something I can have in my life. Granted everyone is a little racist, black white, who cares, but its the hate mongering I cant stand. Im trying to have a happy life, not gonna let some fucks ruin that.

I suggest mugging her, stuffing her into a large sack and then take her to L.A., sedate her, and then drop her on Dr. Phil's doorstep. He'll set her right.

These people are scum, walking away in disgust was the second best action to the above.

Oh, while I agree that "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" (See: Avenue Q), this goes beyond that. This person is a dirtbag.
 
Why don't you use your own logic and reasoning, instead of coming to a videogame forum for advice for something like this?
 
Why not call her on it?

If you see her again, and this happens, ask her what her problem is and if she can't back up what she's saying then she's nothing but a windy hoe-bag.

that just about sums it up for me as well. when i was little i had to put up with racism every other day because of my asian ethnicity. people used to tell me things like: if you ain't white, you ain't right. telling shite like that to a child is just flat out wrong.

Just thought it'd make for some interesting discussion. I've just never had to deal with something like this, so I thought I'd get some other people's opinions.
 
I am always scared by people like that. The more people I meet like that chick you met the more I suspect everyone of being a horrible closet racist.

There was this attorney who I worked with last year who had just come back from Afghanistan and I am not sure if the war made him crazy or if he was always like that but he would just state the most outrageous and racist stuff on a daily basis. I never really knew what to say in those situations the only thing I knew was that I did not want to spend a lot of time near this dude. He was also a diehard Republican, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I remember one day I was telling him about this old lady who rear ended me on my way back to DC from Tyson's Corner and I told him the old lady drove off. He just blurted out "She was black right?" I almost felt like calling his racist ass out, but he a amateur heavyweight boxer and probably could have snapped me in half so I led it slide.

If you're going all the way to LA, why drop her off with Dr. Phil? Drop her off on Compton's doorstep. That'll fix her.

If I were you, next time you see her, at least tell her how you feel. I believe with racism at least, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

This solution doesn't work when the racist in question is a member of the US Special Forces and came in 2nd in the Golden Gloves tournament as a heavyweight.

I don't think yelling at her would have made any differenc anyways, people just suck. Look at the racists on this board, you can ridicule them all they want but that is just the way their fucked up minds work.
 
I usually don't mind people like that so long as they aren't constantly harping about other races.....plus they tend to say crazy absurd bullshit that's unintentionally funny. Violent or genocidal tendencies are disturbing, the rest you can kinda laugh off.

Dr. Phil just did a show on a man who is clearly racist, but in a bit less of an aggressive way. His daughter hooked up with a black guy and now she's carrying his child. He's gone, but the girl's father is afraid that he won't love the black baby.

He got two of the black people on his staff to handle the phone conversations, so that when he came to the show he said "Surprise" and revealed it all. I was just being topical.

Plus, I only get 1 channel so a lot of my life lessons come from Dr. Phil.

I was just thinking back when people could be arrested for going into a white restroom if you were black which led me to wonder if you can be arested for for going into the opposite sex restroom? If so that is total sexual discrimination and if not, WOO!

They had just gone through the intersection we were waiting to cross at. Maybe they ran the red light, no idea. The cop wasn't chasing them, but just pulled out after they went by.

I'm from Houston, Tx so it's very mutlicultural there, in fact, I basically grew up around asian-american types. I'm hispanic.

I could never imagine raising children among such ignorant people...
 
well, i live in alaska where it's not quite so blended (although it is getting better) and some people really are just stupid. plain and simple.

there will always be different people with different opinons sharing one type of prejudice or another. in my opinion though there are far better ways of voicing those opinions than screaming out racial slander, etc.

You're my kind of person.

I think it's all well and good when posters point out this kind of 'obvious' racism, but really, racism occurs in more subtle forms, which includes this thing called Multi-culturalism, which is essentially government funded segregation. Ethnic groups are encouraged by the government to retian their cultural identity, never learn the local language and live in their little enclaves.

I've mentioned this before, but in my apartment block, a white family moves out every few months and is replaced by an immigrant, usually Asian (i live in Vancouver) or an eastern European. All the local whites move out to the fringes of the area in their giant houses, behind gated communities and drive their SUVs. The racism is hidden under excuses about quality of life, crime (its pretty safe where I live, but they'll find a way to explain why crime is high), pollution, etc.
 
You know I <violin starts playing> I've been the victim of overt and subtle racism at various times through my life... and I have to tell you.. the overt shit doesn't hurt NEARLY as much as the subtle I'm going be sneaking and plan this shit out racism. <violin stops playing>

Then again I myself have moved out of the city in to the county to get away from black people so....
