Fire Emblem DS - It's Bound To Happen

Multiplayer seems too unnatural to the series that not many people will play it.

Also, I want a new Thraccia 776, that's my favorite, but also expanding the series with new genres. I would love to play a adventures/action game based on Lyn's background. Shit, I need this.

And again, Path of Radiance art and narrative, with its great plot... I need more!

A war room as in-depth as Advance Wars', basically.

I would so fucking buy that. The lack of a War Room made anyone saying FE was superior to AW just insane. People only say so for the story, and because it's an RPG, while AW has both the longevity and quality gameplay.

I don't think quality gameplay is dictated by a war room. Advance Wars and Fire Emblem, despite their superficial similarities, are just very different games. Fire Emblem has superior gameplay in some regards, while AW has superior gameplay in others. You can't just say one series has better gameplay than the other.

I don't know that cramming an AW-style war room into FE would really help enhance FE's gameplay, or just make it more like AW, which I would not consider a good thing -- if I want AW, I'll play AW. If they can find FE-styled features to put in such an option that would make it remain consistent with FE gameplay, then sure, go for it Intelligent Systems. However, if it's just there to satisfy people who'd rather be playing Advance Wars, then no thanks.

As to longevity, FE has it in spades. Immediately after I finished FE7, I started a new game with it -- thanks to the game kindly providing an entirely new scenario to play through, with new characters, maps, higher difficulty, and new and revised story sequences. If Fire Emblem DS brings that back, and perhaps adds in another scenario on top of that (three full lords rather than two full and one partial), then I will be very, very happy.

The only thing War Room did for AW was add longevity, and the only thing that it would do for Fire Emblem is add much-needed longevity.

I don't really enjoy the war room that much, actually. I just don't find it much fun - probably because AW's economic aspect isn't that interesting and the war room places too much emphasis on it. Because of that, Fire Emblem gives me more replay value because the campaign is more replayable (support conversations, using different characters, etc.)

Kinda off-topic, but is it just me or was the support conversations for PoR kinda strange? For one, some obvious pairings are missing (Marcia and her brother, no support wtf? Volke with only Bastion, who I never used) The only really interesting one was Soren's backstory imo.

The reason is that a lot of the obvious pairs get automatic bonuses when they're near each other (Mist and Ike boost each other's crit when they're adjacent, for example). And I think FE9's supports were generally more interesting and better written than in 7 or 8. I also loved how supports were built by chapters together rather than turns next to each. However, the fact that you can't view supports you've gotten really annoyed me, and there could have been a few more (most characters just have 3).

I don't understand why people want FE online still, AW I could understand even if I didn't care, but FE definitely doesn't need any online modes. I'd prefer if IS concentrated on improving the single player experience.

Just thought of something else: I'd like it if you could transfer the FE7 and FE8 lords over to be used via the GBA slot. Granted, it makes absolutely no sense continuity-wise, but neither did any of the bonus characters in FE8, and other than Lyon those characters had the same standardized animations as anyone else in the same class.
I'd love to put Eliwood, Eirika, Ephraim, and especially Lyn and Hector in a battle with the FEDS lords and have an entire army of non-generic sprites.

Alternatively, I'd settle for unlockable remixes of Lyn's/Eliwood's/Hector's themes and Determination playable in the sound test.

If they could pull off something like FE8's creature campaign, except fighting normal human units, how would that not be getting too much like AW?
