For the second time in two days, Slingerlands native and "Apprentice" contestant Jennifer Crisafulli was apparently fired Thursday -- this time from her real job -- for remarks she made on the NBC reality show.
An official with the Manhattan firm Prudential Douglas Elliman said Thursday that Crisafulli, a 32-year-old real estate agent with the firm, would not be welcomed back because of comments she made on Wednesday night's episode of "The Apprentice."

Crisafulli, who now lives in Manhattan, made remarks that were perceived by some as anti-Semitic.

The 1990 graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names was shown on "The Apprentice" Wednesday making disparaging remarks about two women whom she believed gave a negative review to a restaurant her team opened. The team lost and project manager Crisafulli was later fired by star Donald Trump.

"It was those two old, Jewish fat ladies," she told teammates. "Really. They were like the pinnacle of the New York jaded old bags."

Elliman received calls Thursday protesting the remarks. Crisafulli believes most complaints came from "jealous brokers."

tbh its not that bad, but at the same time u wudn't say "It was those two old, Christian fat ladies"

But, IIRC, she didn't know for a fact that they were Jewish. She was stereotyping their behaviour as Jewish and complaining about it.

ahh that makes more sense, ok she probably deserves it then

I am sorry, but her getting fired for that is TOTALLY wrong. As much of a bitch she was those comments were in no way disparaging and not anti-semitic. If being called jewish is anti-semitic then is being called African racist? Jesus you guys need to lighten up and obviously so does her firm. It's like I would get fired for saying there is a Jewish guy at my lab. Did I know he was Jewish? No, but he was wearing a yamaca so I would guess. But hey, I don't KNOW!

While I agree with freedom of speech, and really don't even think what she said was wrong, I also agree that her employer has the freedom to hire whoever they want.

:rolleyes.

Please. A yamaca is a give away. You are being disingenuous with that statement.

She was fired likely because she was now a PR problem and not because of the substance of the remarks. She is probably biased, said some stupid ass shit while she was under duress etc. and got called out on it because a few million people saw it on TV.

If she said it was "those jewish ladies in the corner I know it" to a producer, a friend, another contestant off camera, even her boss at work she would have likely left with a small rebuke at most. It was the situation within which she said it, not the substance of the words that got her fired. And that isn't to argue that what she said wasn't stupid or didn't reflect some, probably subconcious, bigotry.

It's not what she said, but the context and tone of the remark. If she just said "Yeah, we had two Jewish women come in," there wouldn't be a big fuss over it. But she pointed out that they were Jewish with an obvious intent to implicate, or explain their brash behavior.

(And it's "yarmulke," "yarmulka," or "yarmelke.")

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.

it wasn't simply saying, "hey, check out those jewish ladies over there." She labeled them jews (whether correctly or incorrectly) in connection with other negative remarks.

Of course, if you still disagree, go outside and walk up to an obese black woman and say, "what up you fat, black bitch?" And then explain how it's not offensive.

How can you possibly construe those remarks as not either disparaging or anti-semitic, if she used "Jewish" as part of her insult? Even if she knew they were Jewish, what does their being Jewish have anything to do with her insult?

Following this post, nobody should take the following sentence as offensive:

"That's just what you can expect from black people."

Apparently this is in no way disparaging because all it does is call them black.

That's fucked up in my opinion. I didn't think what she said was anti-semitic at all. Not at all. She was just looking for someone to blame and the two old jewish women were the most vocal about how awful the decor was.

I'm annoyed. She was kind of hot too.

Honestly, who cares? People get fired for dumber things. If she got that job back, would it make any difference? What's good is that it shows that racism, in any of it's forms, isn't excusable and I'm all for that. This is new york, if you can't get past a person's skin color and all you get is fired from your job, you're getting let off easy.

The whole "racist" card gets played way too much IMO.

Especially on these shows....

If a black person gets the boot it seems everyone cries racism. Recent examples on TV would be American Idol wa-babies saying that racist voters voted out the divas, or Marvin on Big Brother calling Cowboy a racist just because he didn't like Marvin and wanted him voted out.

Not to mention our local racial-card playing member here...you know who you are :p

Get the hell over it I say...an asshole is an asshole no matter what race they are. People say stupid shit no matter what race they are.

With that said....

She was a bitch anyway...but it sounds like PR protection to me.

look, no one in their right mind would keep a person who made such a comment on tv working for their company! of course its a PR thing!!
and after this, she'd be lucky to get another corporate job.

When something happens to somebody and they are a certain race, that alone doesn't mean it's racist. When somebody says something to somebody and they are a certain race, that alone doesn't mean it's racist. When somebody makes a claim INVOLVING a person's race, now we might be crossing the line depending on context.

"Our local racial-card playing member" doesn't understand this either, so it seems.

I didn't exactly find her comments offending but hey, that's the PC world we live in. Probably if little Stacey didn't get all upset about Jennifer's comments then this wouldn't have gotten so blown out of proportion. But Jennifer didn't do a good job in leading the team and she tried to make it personal when she kept Stacey with her in the boardroom. So Jennifer deserved to get fired but this other crap she's getting because of some off-handed remarks born out of stress and frustration seems beyond necessary. Oh well :p

Ugh. OH NO SHE STEREOTYPED TWO PEOPLE WHO PERHAPS STEREOTYPE THEMSELVES! People need to stop bitching about others calling them on the fact they subject themselves to a stereotype. Groupism beyochs can suck it.

The ladies didn't "stereotype themselves" she assumed they were jewish by generalizing their behaviour as a jewish trait.

How does one stereotype themeselves anyway?

When I see someone walking down the street, carrying cellphones and reinactign MTV imagees, it's someone stereotyping themselves. When I see A&F, backwards hats and "brah" spoken... it is stereotyping yourself. When I see an asian girl, TyPe LyKe DiS and bumpin the latest Destiny Child to release a CD, with overdone makeup... it's someone stereotyping themselves.
