Don't know if this topic has been done before, but I remember my first ever concert at a real venue. It was way back in either 1982 or 83, I went with my brother to see the rock group "Saga". My brother was a huge fan and dragged me along to Maple Leaf Gardens to watch it. First time I ever smelled marijuana.

I saw this man in 1993 with my dad.

Julian Lennon. I think I was ten or something. When he was singing Much Too Late For Goodbyes. I think it was at the Beacon. Or maybe the Hammerstein Ballroom.

I went to the Red Hot Chili Peppers in the Jaarbeurshallen in Utrecht, the Netherlands, with my dad. The concert sucked, but at least they put on an energetic show, like they always do, so for a first concert, it wasn't all that bad.

Sanitarium 2003

Good stuff except for limp bizkit. Although Fred Durst did get hit in the face with a shoe. And a cup. That more than made up for it.

I'm sure I went to one before it, but the oldest ticket stub I have is for Metallica's Shit Hits the Sheds tour in '94. Suicidal Tendencies and Candlebox opened for them. It owned... I was 12.

First Concert, man i really cant remember what was first. I was dragged to a Rap Concert with coolio and some other artists back in 96.

But the first concert i went to on my own was Vans Warped Tour 98 or 99. First mosh pit experiance and all that jazz. Lots of fun.

My first out of town concert was to San Diego in Nov of 01 to see Weezer, Tenacious D, and Jimmy Eat World. Best concert i've ever gone too.

My mom says my first concert was Foreigner, Journey, and Loverboy in San Jose back when i was 2 (do i remember this? hell no)

Pink Floyd, the tour with the giant pig ballon.

FUCK YOU OMG! I was born in the wrong generation.

I went to a couple of crappy concerts when I was a pre-teen, but I wouldn't count them since I went with my mom. Yeah. Then a long dry spell when I had zero interest in concerts and almost that little in music period; I was completely burnt out on commercial radio/MTV but didn't think anything outside of that could interest me. That all changed my last year in high school when a friend got me hooked on Pink Floyd, and many similar and not so similar bands followed. My second year in college, I finally went to a real concert in Atlanta. It was Phil Lesh & Friends, Ratdog, and Dickey Betts. Of course, Bob Weir played with Phil's band almost the whole show, so it was almost exactly the same lineup currently touring as The Dead. I was more interested in Betts, but we got there late and missed half his set. :-( He still came back out with Phil and Bob to play "Blue Sky", which made my day. All in all, it was a fun time and a great value ($30 tickets for 8 hours or so of music). I wasn't blown away by The Dead and still am not, but it led to many other fantastic concerts that were much better.

Iron Maiden (opening group Anthrax) at the Long Beach Arena.

After watching Live After Death about a million times, it was the PERFECT place to see my first show!

Public Enemy/Beastie Boys (around 1985-6?)

I was just a young kid, and terrified that I would be the only white kid at this concert. Little did I know that more than half the crowd would be white. lol.

Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing Peter and the Wolf is the first concert I can remember. No idea what the first concert I went to was.

Jars of Clay.. I think it was in Oakland and it must have been around 1997 (When Much Afrain came out). I was about 21 years old.

Yeah, I'm kind of new to the concert scene.

David Lee Roth and Cinderella

Ha, ha. I saw that tour (not my first). I remember Dave rode this gigantic inflated microphone. He looked quite comfortable straddling it.

First concert ever was Eddie Murphy Raw. First music was Journey with The Outfield

My dad took me to my first concert at age 12. I saw the Dead Milkmen and Mojo Nixon. This was back when Mojo had semi-notoriety for his awesome song, "Don Henley must die". In the middle of the set, Mojo's piano player started playing "The End of the Innocence", and Mojo got IRATE. Then he forced his piano player to mock-sodomize an atomically correct inflatable sheep that just happened to be on stage.

True story!

Moist and I Mother Earth in 1996. It pretty much sucked.

It didn't prepare me at all for my next concert, Radiohead, August 1997, on their OKComputer tour. I fell in love with an album that day.

Oh yeah, I forgot about seeing Raffi when I was in kindergarten. He played that one about the watermelon patch, which was my favorite, and then the encore was something sappy that nobody liked. That's all I remember.

How is Radiohead live?

AlphaSnake

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
I was 16 and I went to see Sevendust on Valentine's Day with a friend who eventually became my gf. It was a good concert, no regrets.

StoOgE

First tragedy, then farce.
Lolapalooza back when the peppers were headlining it. I was *way* too young to go to that, but I had a very irresponsible older cousin.

Rolling Stones. Guns N Roses and Living Colour (missed living colour) as the opeing acts. 1989 LA Colluseum. Fucking awesome show.

Being 13 I was mainly interested in GNR but was blown away by the stones.

Heh, I've only been to two concerts in my life. The first was at the Sydney Entertainment Centre April 2004 for Radiohead. The second concert experience was Brian Wilson at the Opera House.

Smegging smeg of a smeg!
First show - I don't completely recall, it might have been Government Issue or Black Flag in 1984 or so.

First concert - The Clash on their last US tour

My first was a huge rock festival in Moscow where many bands performed, I was young I didn't know most of them at the time (my sister took me with her), but I clearly remember The Scorpions and Bon Jovi performing, I wish I can remember the name of the whole thing so I can dig up what other bands were there. I'm sure I can google it but don't feel like doing that right now, must hit the sack.
