This was actually discovered and released a few weeks ago by the ESO VLT (European Southern Observatory Very Large Telescope), but I thought it was interesting.

wild
and whats that ring around that star
Probably just the eye of Yog-Sothoth.

I think it's just ambient light from the star. The article says they had to block out the majority of the star's light to see the planets since it was magnitudes brighter than the planets.

This picture makes me excited for Starfield. Imagine all the pirate bunkers we could invade on all those planets.

It also reminds me that it wasn't that long ago when my science teachers in school could only speculate and debate if other stars actually has planets or not, and even if they did, how common they might be.

What an incredible image. It's shocking that they were able to get such a "close up" with that much clarity. It's so clear that it barely needs an explanation at all.

That's wild.

I'm convinced there are other intelligent life forms out there trying to figure this shit out like we are.
I might not live to see that day, but I think it's not a matter of if, but when.

i believe there is definitely life out there. one of those planets could have a civilization like us. maybe more advanced. they could be all chilling out there looking at photos they took of our sun and earth.

I wonder if there's a planet out there with better internet for porn out in an Amazon forest like biome.

Genuinely amazing.

Too bad we will burn this planet to the ground before we have even a sliver of a hope of moving beyond it.

I feel violated, fucking creeps, we should call the police on them.
