I'm probably far from the first to say this, but does it look like "Mogren" could be Keighley himself?
Not fully disclosing the actual game, not feeding people instantaneous information about the game in question, not branding a game in a big franchise with the the creator/director of the series at first.
Why stigmatize this form of promotion?

Thanks, so basically this is an announcement for GDC.... I get this feeling that at The Phantom Pain presentation at GDC, some guy with bandages wrapped around his head will show up up stage and unravel the bandages revealing that it is Hideo. He will pull a switcheroo.

Except that everyone knew exactly what this was the second it was revealed. They never fooled anyone. This is viral marketing. Plenty of games have done it before, none of them have needlessly drawn it out this far though. At some point it's "Ok you got us, here's the game"

I don't "loathe" it. I think it's stupid. And I think there is some double standard going on here with Geoff's involvement. He can essentially participate in an infomercial for Konami and Kojima and everyone thinks its cool and edgy, but heaven forbid he sit a can of Mountain Dew next to him while he talk about Halo we get a 50 page thread of people losing their shit.
Yeah or some Konami US community manager or something lol, as I said in the other thread his faked accent is the worst.

Eh, I personally had low standards for him as a journalist, DoritosGate made those standards drop a tad bit lower. He's not even making Phantom Pain out to be a end all be all game, he participated in one silly joke segment and it didn't feel gross or slimy.

It all just seems to be harmless fun. I don't think Kojima is trying to break the record for "greatest controversy in video game history"

So you don't like how other people are reacting to this interview/goofy marketing? If Pepsi advertised Mountain Dew at that Halo interview by making porn stars have a real chugging contest with Mountain Dew, and the cans were shook, people would be more receptive and entertained.
Instead they plopped bags of Doritos and Mountain Dew behind Geoff Keighley.

Man, I am loving all this Kojima mind f*ck. But, my problem with this interview is that Geoff Keighley and "Joakim" feel like they are in different rooms. Usually for an interview like this they would have same background behind both guys, otherwise it is jarring like it is in this interview. Also, the way "Joakim" talks it feels like they are not face to face, Joakim actually has to speak up. And, WHY DID JOAKIM NOT WALKOUT ANGRILY AT THE END? Come on guys if you are going to do this put more effort into it and make it more entertaining.
