Make sure the mechanics are rich and layered, with plenty of depth. I can't stand when games become stale after just 10 hours

what a waste of talent ..

instead of getting Titanfall 3... we get this.... wtf is this? pass

Posts like these are really weird. This isn’t going to be a mega AAA titles and is being made in collaboration with another studio. Stuff like this would have had no impact on any plans for a Titanfall 3. At all.

Titanfall 3 isn’t happening because Reapawn knows they can’t trust you lot after TF2 underperformed commercially.

EA fucked up that one. They sent TF2 out between COD and Battlefield. What the fuck were they thinking? The game needed time to shine on it's own.

The sad thing is, TF2 was a far better game than COD and Battlefield. In fact, I'd go as far as to say TF2 was the best online shooter that gen and had one of the best FPS campaigns EVER made.

Please, give me TF3 so I can murder fools with my Ronin Titan again.

if its that good then it should have gotten the players it deserved years after release. Instead the numbers are still not that high.

Yuck looks terrifible

NegativeGAF at it again.

Maybe if it were announced as PS5 exclusive James would like it a bit more

If that's the case then people have no taste. TF2 is a masterpiece.

However, I think it would have done better if it was released in early 2017 when the hype from Battlefield and COD had died down.

I'm glad that there are still developers out there that are dedicated to this genre, but it's going to bomb hard. Even the excellent Midnight Suns, with the power of the Marvel brand, was a massive bomb. I don't see a Star Wars game faring differently, especially in light of SW Outlaws' failure.

Yeah sure, it's totally our fault they decided to drop it in the middle of 2 other huge releases for normies.
if its that good then it should have gotten the players it deserved years after release. Instead the numbers are still not that high.

It surged to 18,000 concurrent players on steam alone in 2020. Not 'huge' launch numbers, but huge numbers for a 'failed' game that was over 4 years old at that point. Halo infinite is 4 years old now, and in the past year it's 'high' is almost 8,000. If we look at todays all time high player count for MCC vs Titanfall 2, it's literally 5,000 vs 4,000.

It has legs, but it is literally going against itself half the time, terrible launch, plus lots of bad pr with people worried about hackers, and downed servers, since EA respawn refused to do anything about it for a long time. But yet it still goes strong, reached over 27,000 players in 2021. when it was 5 years old. 23,000 in 2023.

I think it is incredibly impressive for a 'failed' game, that is in an incredibly competitive environment, there are literally countless multiplayer games to play, and yet it still gets showed so much love and compassion by it's fanbase. It has numbers, it just missed the initial normie audience thanks to Respawn/EA thinking they could compete against so many other huge games.

Always room for another tactical game in my library. Just hope it has a bit more depth then the newer Xcom games or else I'll have to wait and see if the modding community can save this one aswell.

My opinion is mine. The only garbage are trash people like you that can’t accept other people have opinions. I want titanfall from respawn . Not this ugly trash
Nah. You are the trash, but not as trashy as your impaired reading comprehension.

BitReactor is not Respawn. Bitreactor was NEVER going to work on a Titanfall game regardless of how much your sorry ass dislikes tactical games.

You are basically whining about the equivalent of “Why aren’t the Hollow Knight devs working on a new Half-Life rather than Silksong?” Or “Why isn’t Owlcat working on the next Battlefield rather than a CRPG?”

Your perfectly-subjective garbage taste about genres doesn’t work as an excuse for your poor understanding of who’s who and how individual specialisation plays a factor.

And now keep crying in a corner about your nonsensical expectations not being met by reality.

Pff. I would already kill for this turning out to be HALF as good as War of the Chosen.

Which is apparently a high bar to clear for most of the competitors.

P.S. Hell, let’s be generous and say Jagged Alliance 3.

They are both objectively good games, for sure. And I enjoyed my playthroughs. But I enjoy a bit more depth then a 2 AP system can deliver.

But yeah, having their first outing be at the same quality as WotC would be quite the feat.

like I said in my previous post, no one is garbage here but you. and i already made it clear why. not gonna repeat my self because there is no point in teaching garbage any manners.

This man knows what's up. TF2's campaign is still one of the best FPS campaign of all time.

I can read and UNLIKE you I can also understand what this means.
The "collaboration" here is that BitReactor is developing the game and Respawn is just SUPERVISING the IP use.
The same Respawn that incidentally was busy developing an unannouced shooter that was allegedly cancelled recently, just to prove the point once more:

If you actually think a relatively-small tactical game mostly developed by an auxiliary study is what's preventing Respawn from working on a new Titanfall or whatever else, you have no clue of what you are blabbing about.

them supervising it if thats what you wanna call it.. is a wasted talent. I would rather have them supervise Titanfall 3. which brings goes back to my original post. but no.. you had to jump in like an idiot and talk shit. zero reading skills and insulting people for having opinions. again as I said in my previous post .. you can't teach....... ( can you guess what are you here ? ) .....any manners because they cannot learn.

we're done here kid. bye

Sure, that’s a very knowledgeable take. Let me add to that: it was Respawn’s decision to release the game when they did, which shows how much trust EA management places in the studio and Vince Zampella. Was the timing a mistake? Absolutely. But EA isn’t 100% at fault here.
On a broader note, studios should consider moving away from Tuesday releases and start launching on Fridays instead. The reason is that some people—whom I’d call “brain-dead weebs”—measure a game’s success purely by its Steam CCU (concurrent users). A Friday release typically drives higher CCU because more players are free to jump in over the weekend.
As for Titanfall 3, I do believe it will eventually happen. However, I’d wait until the next Battlefield releases and hits its peak—especially since Battlefield 6 looks like it’s poised for massive release.
