LTTP: Star Wars Outlaws

Nah the game just isn't that much fun. too much stealth bs. other planets are basically 1/8 of the first planet in content. fighting is floaty and slow.
It's a game for shallow graphics whores and nothing else.

I've been playing this a little and mostly agree with OP. I really like the factions setup and it oooks great. But it's super woke and girlboss. the main character is also awful, not just in terms of design but writing.

If this was a Han Solo game like I suspect it was meant to be before the DEI department got its claws in it, it would've been amazing. Still I think it's worth a try for $20 if your curious.

I tried out the demo on Switch 2. I like the Star Wars environments and sound effects, but maybe I'm just growing out of these types of games. It checked off my itch to play it. Maybe it's that sense of going through the motions pressing buttons prevalent in Ubisoft games. It's not bad, but I need more than the novelty of being in Star Wars world.

One moment the game lost a TON of points for me. I lost the speeder I was riding while fighting two guys on speeders, who left their rides behind. Since I was now on foot, I tried to take one of their speeder bikes and you can't. They just stay there for show. I was like F this game while I started walking the rest of the distance. I don't know why but it kind of broke immersion, guess I'm used to more open-ended games. I was so sure I'd be able to do that, it's worked since GTA! Unrealistic expectations maybe.
I've said it earlier but the demo sucks, like I played it on PS5 and I was like "okay I understand why this game reviewed poorly, I don't care for this person or her story", and then I played the whole game from the beginning and it was actually pretty great.

And you can call your speeder with a button, and there is a bit of a background regarding it, it is a bit your own thing, not a random speeder you can replace

Is there a mod to fix her busted face or did they get deleted? I was considering getting this when cheap, and modding.
At this point, why not just update the model. Not like it could hurt sales. Maybe they could actually sell some copies. Sure they could do this very easily.

I have it on my Steam wishlist. I think it looks fun but I also expect parts of it to let me down too. When it someday goes on sale for under $20 I'll probably pick it up, not in a rush though.

I wish it had a character creator instead of being a fixed character story. Something more like Skyrim in Star Wars for example (but better than Starfield was).

I found the game to be boring as hell. The movement is really stiff and I'm guessing the jump-button was added a week before going gold.

The game can look pretty good at times, but then you'll have a cutscene where the main character is barely emoting or moving their mouth. I'd also say that the MC is the least interesting character in the game, and has nothing going for her outside of some kind of mother issues. I'd sigh whenever a cutscene was launched. Not sure if I played the game the wrong way, I had completed everything possible before the final mission, but the emotional climax with the droid fell flat as hell. Ship combat couldn't be any slower.

The Droid was the only character that was even a little bit fun. They even managed to make Hondo and Lando boring.

Concept is great, but everything about the game seems undercooked. I'm guessing the budget is way lower than you'd be able to tell from a screenshot. I'm guessing they've also been borrowing a lot of assets from Lucas Arts, since almost every alien in the game matches those that where already in Battlefront. Wouldn't be surprised if the Star Wars license accounts for over half of the budget.

I've probably said this in previous games. But this game could still have made a lot of money if the MC was customizable. And if you gave him/her a helmet or alien features it would be harder to tell that the mocap/facial animation was botched.

Yes, I REALLY wanted one of those imperial speeders! Her's looks like a Pug in comparison.

Wasn't even Imperial. Was some dirty alien pirate and the speeder model could have been the exact same one for all I know, you'd have to look side by side because they're all dark and rusty looking.

I took a stab at it for $20. It's okay, it definitely nails the SW vibe and look. The protagonist is pretty vapid and annoying, and knocking out Stormtroopers by punching them in the freakin helmet will never not be funny.
I'm having a decent time with it. The bones for what could've been a really great smuggling game are there, they just fleshed it out in all the wrong ways.
Should've have definitely had a character creator and more Privateer stuff. Maybe actual smuggling and whatnot opens up later on, I'm still on the first planet.

LOL and like 95% of the stormtroopers are female too

Lmao, even eating food is a mini game with the lil furry thingy.
Han Solo gets a Wookie, good ol Lantern Jaw gets a fuckin Disney sidekick.
Once you get a hyperdrive it become a "assemble the crew" heist type deal. The droid is the only cool one.

The map is hopeless.

If you already have a poor reputation with one or more of the factions, going into their area and gunning a few down doesn't make it worse?

Are you supposed to do everything in the one region before moving on?

Expert missions (quests?) I take it you are supposed to come back later when you are powered up?

Sorry for all the questions.

It's a cluttered and jumbled mess and after a while it actually gives you anxiety because there is so much shit everywhere and nonstop popups to go do this and that, that you really just end up not doing anything. One of the main reasons i ended up dropping the game.

Okay I've slowly been chipping away on the first map, I've bettered all my reputations now so I don't get shot to shit whenever I enter a Pyke or Crimson Dawn area.

Map is still shit mind.
