The official description of Anemone calls the film "an absorbing family drama … about lives undone by seemingly irreconcilable legacies of political and personal violence." Set in Northern England, the film follows a middle-aged man (Sean Bean) who "sets out from his suburban home on a journey into the woods, where he reconnects with his estranged hermit brother (Day-Lewis). Bonded by a mysterious, complicated past, the men share a fraught, if occasionally tender relationship—one that was forever altered by shattering events decades earlier."

Day fucking zero. DDL looks awesome already with that stache and the grey. And hell yes Sean Bean. Can we all start making bets on how many minutes in they'll kill him off?

Directors, actors and artists on his level rarely actually retire even if they use that word. It's more like an extended break.

Valid comment. His son, Ronan Day-Lewis, is making his director debut with this film. There is no telling how good the film will be and part of me wonders if DDL is just doing his son a favour.

However, DDL did co write the script (I'm going to assume he did most of the writing), so there is hope that it won't just be a vanity project.

DDL is obviously the goat but Sean Bean is by no means a slouch either. I still weep for Ned Stark to this day.

Dude his son must have lot of pressure on him to be as good as his dad. Which is why I feel somewhat bad for him. Daniel Day Lewis is by far one of the best actors I seen.
