I think it's going to be the 'has-been actor who's also comic relief' role here. I'm simply basing this on how old Karl Urban is.I just hope it's not "Legacy character is old, will train new character to take the reins, etc. etc. etc." But I still look forward to this.
But Raiden is still in the sequelSo…he's the Raiden figure (read mentor) this time around?
Maybe Raiden is the one to get Goro-ed this time around? But Raiden is still in the sequel
AbsolutelyI like the fake campy stuff.
Absolutely
I want to see those Cage movies
Karl Urban's great, but I don't know about this casting.
I'm not sure if they follow the game lore, but he should be Immortal. If he wants to fight in the tournament he would need to give up his immortality.Maybe Raiden is the one to get Goro-ed this time around?
I watched the first one with some friends while we were drinking and I don't remember much about it at all, except that it was good, dumb fun.
I'll definitely be watching this with some buds and brews.![]()
The first movie was around 70% serious with multiple moments of comedy and camp. The comedy came in the minute Kano entered the scene, and the camp came from some of the over the top fatailities.I don't get it, the first movie tried to be super serious and now they want to have comedy?
At least they nailed kano.First movie is such a mixed bag. It starts off amazing but somewhere halfway through it's like the director thought "wait a minute, this movie is supposed to be schlock" and the movie never recovers from that vibe. It just becomes such a goofy, sloppy mess.
This was fucking cool:

The big focus is on Johnny Cage, and they make it clear that he isn't a great fighter and doesn't seem to have powers. I think Cole doesn't last long so they need a replacement for the tournament and Raiden sees something in Johnny.Still disappointed it even has the guy from the first one in it. What a lame character.
