Mortal Kombat 2 trailer new

I'm still in blanket dismay that we have this instead of a proper Dredd 2

Love Karl Urban, but not feeling him as Cage. Should've been a new actor.

I was down on the actor who played Cole in the first movie, but after seeing him in Cobra Kai, i am excited to see what he'll do in this one. Hopefully they can better use his capabilities cause he's a real martial artist. He was also the best part in Iron Fist.

I'm not digging the CGI. Looks cheap and some of the background shots look fake.

Yeah not sure what is with the cheap CGI in this one and the previous one, I don't know if they feel like it makes it look like the games? But even the original 2D games looked more realistic so I don't get it.

I love him too and he looks great for his age. But he's way too old to be doing something like this and also playing Johnny cage.

Don't like urban as cage but pretty hyped, i liked the first movie well enough.

Still riding on Karl Urban's rise in popularity, eh? And Raiden still looks horribly miscasted (and he's not the only one).

looks way better than the first one.
and I like them actually embracing the old theme song. I hope it will be used in the movie.

even better would be remixing some of the music from the first 3 games. like the Street stage or subway stage themes from MK3.

Not gonna lie, that doesn't look great.

That being said, I'm a franchise fan, though not enough of one to make it through MK1. Here's hoping this is fun at least.

Kitana is hot.

Intergalactic chicken, meh.

Most don't seem too bad. Fights look like they could be fun.

It looks better than SF, should say that.

She's just another "Eh ..." actor cast in this: fits with Shang Tsung, Raiden, many of the other characters.

Was mortal Kombat always Johnny cage focused?I hope he brings his 500$ sunglasses

No but the previous one focussed on a totally new character when it could've (and honestly should've) been Johnny Cage and that fucking sucked.

This honestly feels like a redo, and that's okay.

My guess; Cole from the first MK is Shao Khan in this movie.

The only Mortal Kombat movie that I like up to this point is the original 1995 movie:

The trailer is still amazing.

I saw this in the theatre back in 1995 when it first debuted. I was 14 when I watched it. Yeah, even back then, I could spot the bad CG, but I didn't care. For what it is worth, it held the dubious crown as the best video game movie adaption for the longest time. I saw many video game movies at the cinema. It was a perfect blend of a Enter the Dragon ripoff, mashed together with Big Trouble in Little China, and many other older kung fu movies. Plus the sound track was amazing for a 14 year old me.

And Honestly, it was almost liked by Siskel and Ebert. Gene Siskel actually gave it a thumbs up, claiming that it was much better than he was expecting it to be. Roger Ebert claimed that he couldn't see shit due to how dark the movie was. For me, a: ' one thumb up/ can't see shit captain' review was all I needed to know that it was good enough.

As for the new Mortal Kombat II Trailer... well... it looks better than the 2021 film. It seems like they are going back to what the fans of the franchise actually want. Not sure of they made any changes to the movie since its' original October 2025 planned release date? But it seems like they are trying to capture what people liked about the original Paul W.S. Anderson film.

Hopefully the sets and environments are better this go around. That first one looked fucking cheap and bland for the most part. At least the 95 film had some style to it.

I might actually give this one a chance in theatres. The first one was a pass as it looked mediocre.

I'm a stickler for practical effects so this already looks like a write off for me. Most of those sets look like they're shot against an LED wall or are entirely CGI. The only ones that looks real is the Johnny Cage warehouse fight and MAYBE the outdoors set with Baraka.

Looks decent enough to warrant a viewing imo. Scorpion and Kano carried the first film for me, and the main guy was horribly out of place. I'm guessing Kano and Scorpion are both background players this time, based on the trailer. Urban will do good work, but Cage was always a side character - not sure he'll work in a protagonist role. Guess we'll find out. And yeah - Mortal Kombat has one the greatest movie themes of all time. They better make proper use of it this time.

He should've been Kano.

You know. Urban would have been a better Kano. But it seems like WVB are baking on his star power from the Boys. But now that I think about The Boys... Anthony Starr (Homelander) could have made for a good Johnny Cage... if he hit the gym and put on some muscles, that is.

It be great if they killed of Cole in the first 5 minutes as a good surprise.
Like how they did that to Cage in the first MKII movie.
