First Tomb Raider Legend 360 Shots

I just find it funny/pathetic that this character appears incapable of ever having her limbs hang vertically. Her arms and legs are always spread.

Always spread, NICE!

Almost everyone loved the new Lara when they showed her first, now everyone hates the change? Bah! Anyway, these shots look mighty unimpressive for 360. I hope they improve it vastly before release.

Final game can't possibly be worse than the old Tomb Raiders. I'm willing to give the new look the benefit of the doubt if it doesn't play as clunktastically as the other TRs.

It's in the hands of a new developer now (Crystal Dynamics) and from the impressions its a much better game.

I think this game is going to be pretty good, but hey look, another lackluster 360 port.

Those are the absolute fucking worse video game knees in history.

Why don't you take that pole out of your ass. For christ's sake, he was bitching about her freakin' knees. You don't find that to be a little bit crazy?

I'm not one to defend Zeo, and dear God help me I hope I never have to again, but screenshot threads are made for criticism of the screenshots. Some people will like it, others won't. We've been over this before.

And to just specifically comment on Zeo's observation, did you see it? Her knees definitely do look off, of all things.

the shiny walls are back!

why don't they just tune down on the specular mapping? is it so important for the HDR to work or something?

I guess I really don't pay close attention to proper knee rendering. It doesn't bother me one bit.

Neither do I, it's just something to nitpick about in this particular screenshot thread. But Lara as a whole is a pretty easy target here ;)

I think the environments look significantly better on the Xbox 360, but I think I actually like the character model on the Xbox version a little better.

Can't see what's the problem here. Xbox360 is the first console to come out when thre previous generation is still alive and kicking, even if preparing to move on next gen hardware. So, the console finds itself in the awkward position that causes rushed ports to meet the christmas release date. We all know that technically Tomb Raider will be a game that will get obliterated in one year time but... uh, what could possibly asked of Crystal Dynamics? As Speevy said, this is all good for hardcore games and early adopters of the new system, who will have the privilege to enjoy a supposedly great game with superior visuals. Context is key here, this christmas Xbox360 will be the only new next gen system around and I'd rather spend 50 bucks for this version then PS2/Xbox ones. Not every game is brought with the purpose to show off the hardware, but just to sell a few copies more on a new market and be enjoyed nonetheless, and I can't see how everyone would expect a major lifting for a direct conversion coming so soon and so early in the system's life.

I remember when the new dev team said they were going to try and make Laura look more realistic, a more plausible looking human being.
I don't think anyone believed them, itÂ’s Lara Croft for crissakes. At least her breasts can't be mistaken for plausible medieval weaponry with those massive points anymore.

This is their new render of her

So that might be the direction they head when they're building the series on next gen systems.

Looks nice, but still unrealistic. Her face scares me. It doesn't look like a human face.

They may just be choosing it for style. I hope to hell everything doesn't go realistic this or next gen. That would completely suck all of the fun out of games.

Yeah, but I didn't mean realistic as in something like PGR3. Didn't Eidos say they were trying to stop exaggerating the female physique? The chest is fine, they can get that big... but the hips are wacky.

That's what Tomb Raider 360 should look like.
