The obvious question came up in their first mailbox - which is more powerful, Xbox 360 or PS3? They put it to an Xbox 360 developer at Bizarre Creations who, as they put it, should have a better grasp on the question than anyone.

I always thought that it was well-known that the PS3 has more power than the 360, and that it was just a question of how much more, and in what areas of a typical game would it make a difference in.

who has more framebuffer memory bandwidth ? Xbox 360 ( 48 GB/sec + 256 GB/sec vs 22.4 GB)


who's GPU can do more peak, meaningless geometry calculations? Xbox 360 (6B/sec vs 1.1B/sec

who has more total RAM? Xbox 360 (522 MB vs 512 MB)

who's GPU is more effecient? Xbox 360 (90% vs 60-70%)

who's CPU has more real CPU cores? Xbox 360 (3 cores 6 threads vs 1 core, 2 threads)

who's GPU has more transistors? Xbox 360 (332-382M vs ~302M)

who has a more advanced Shader Model capability? Xbox 360 (well beyond 3.0 vs closer to just plain 3.0)

this is not to be taken too seriously, because i know there are areas where PS3 smacks the Xbox 360
