First woman to travel to all 196 countries, does so in record 18 months and 26 days

She was babysitting at 23 years old and made 10k. She spent a year and a half planning her trip without a job. That doesn't sound like a poor person. A poor person doesn't even consider the option of traveling to every country in the world. Don't get me wrong, I think her attempt to promote peace and all that is great but let's view it through the proper lens.

What kind of enlightment I'm supposed to receive after looking through the proper lens that the woman isn't poor?

If you really want to discuss it PM me, I already said I don't want to derail the thread any further.

18 x 30 + 26 = 566

566/196 = 2.88 days per country.

Insane, and congratulations.

and that isn't even really counting travel time, although I suppose you could do multiple small countries in a single day. The article said 255 flights, assuming you need at least 3 hours per flight that's 13 days right there. Realistically speaking its much higher than that.

She stayed at each country for less than 3 days on average? What's the point then, checking it off the list?

Also yeah, must be good to have that much money and time to travel around the world.

It's a world record. The point of any world record is to do something faster than anyone else has.

It's common to assume the entire country is a war zone, but there are stable, controlled areas. The violence happens on the front lines, and in areas controlled by hostile forces.

How she got in, that's the big question.
Was going to say the above. A WarZone isn't a constant small-arms engagement. It isn't always death destruction and chaos at every turn. It's just a potential area for these things to exist. The whole country isn't on fire with death everywhere.

Also I'm sure she drove in. Just like people have done in Afghanistan. Or she knew someone who is part of the war industry to get her in on a business deal. Who knows.
