George Lucas wanted to do a Flash Gordon film, but somehow was denied the rights or something. Anyway, I'm sure that Star Wars has more than just a few similarities to the Flash Gordon serials and comics.

Ornella Muti was beyond hot in Flash Gordon. So very nice. Too bad she's a little older now.
