Whats going on ? Is it a parade or something?

I thought Ford just announced that people can be in family bubbles of up to 10 people? Was that thrown out the window for this block party?

Look we will just enjoy the summer and then go back to dealing with Corona in the winter when its cold again.

Only kind of related but I'm pretty sure one of the major outcomes from this whole thing will be changes to urban planning and density requirements.

It was BLM having a "protest"

Well this is better than the protest in the US. But if they want a block party just call it that.

Not sure how Ford and co can justify allowing these protests but telling regular business they can't open or people cant meet up with more than 10 people.

Are they still blaming the cop for that lady that jumped off her balcony, or did they drop that because even that was too much of a lie for BLM to use in their propaganda?

video taken 2 hours ago downtown Toronto.

It's a big party at queen and bay right now (BLM on that float).

Had to go home, impossible to safely social distance, was trying to take my kid to the park.

You're so fucking lucky.
In America, a former game show host is going to have an indoor party for 20,000 people, and nobody needs to wear a mask.
Yuuuge indoor crowd, yelling and cheering, in a state setting new peaks, with no mask requirement.

Could it get any stupider?

Regardless of how one feels about the actual danger of Covid19, it is the hypocrisy that grates.

We were told for weeks about the dangers but somehow it's ok now because BLM? And if it is ok was the whole thing a lie?

People are getting laid from these block parties and protests.

I can’t imagine showing up every day and yell “black lives matter” a thousand times to be fun

Social distancing or 2 weeks of Canadian summer until it starts snowing and getting freezing cold again for the rest of the year? Tough call...

Nah, people are going to start fleeing the cities pretty soon. I mean, viruses are worse in cities and there will be no police so...

i learned from this video that people who are not using the muzzle (yeah human muzzle) can emanate more ki power than the ones who are using it.

Yeah man, sure, the human muzzle. Because wearing a mask it's totally making you weak and impaired, right?

The masks are a government 4D chess tactic of enslavement because the chem trails failed, of course it is. And it's a world wide government plot, because here in Brazil it is advised to use and in some places the use is mandatory.

But guess what, the places where use is mandatory have much lower rates of infection. I bet it's the Pentagon faking data.

Aren't they saying now that asymptomatic spread is basically unheard of, therefore rendering the masks completely pointless unless you're actively sick? The masks are an illusion of safety to make people feel better about leaving their house to go to the grocery store.

Why take the chance? Home made masks are up to 40% less chance of infection... that seems like good odds to me compared to the 0% when not wearing nothing. You'll also protect those around you in the chance of being infected with Covid or other respiratory diseases. What's so difficult to understand and cooperate?

Peel Region has been doing pretty good (from surface observation,) so I always laugh when I look at how many people are out and about in Downtown Toronto, lol.

FYI, mandatory masks, temperature checks, and hand sanitizer for the event, per Brad Parscale (Trump's campaign lead) on Twitter.

Go ahead and make some shitty remark, just correcting the misinformation.

Then the very next day after saying asymptomatic spread is "very rare", WHO says they don't know.

World Health Organization official clarified on Tuesday that scientists have not determined yet how frequently people with asymptomatic cases of Covid-19 pass the disease on to others, a day after suggesting that such spread is “very rare.”

The clarification comes after the WHO’s original comments incited strong pushback from outside public health experts, who suggested the agency had erred, or at least miscommunicated, when it said people who didn’t show symptoms were unlikely to spread the virus.

Maria Van Kerkhove, the WHO’s technical lead on the Covid-19 pandemic, made it very clear Tuesday that the actual rates of asymptomatic transmission aren’t yet known.

“The majority of transmission that we know about is that people who have symptoms transmit the virus to other people through infectious droplets,” Van Kerkhove said. “But there are a subset of people who don’t develop symptoms, and to truly understand how many people don’t have symptoms, we don’t actually have that answer yet.”

[...]“The WHO created confusion yesterday when it reported that asymptomatic patients rarely spread the disease,” an email from the Harvard Global Health Institute said Tuesday. “All of the best evidence suggests that people without symptoms can and do readily spread SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19. In fact, some evidence suggests that people may be most infectious in the days before they become symptomatic — that is, in the presymptomatic phase when they feel well, have no symptoms, but may be shedding substantial amounts of virus.”

Did you mean to say 'just correcting information with misinformation? "
I don't see a thing about mandatory masks, but if true, it would be a great thing.

I think these examples are showing that the younger generational(18-35) have figured out and decided that the safety and health of their parents/grandparents are not of high concern.

The whole lockdown was intended to protect the older generation. Countries were willing to lose trillions of dollars in order to save hundreds of thousands if not millions of older people's lives. I guess the millennial have had enough and said screw the older generation.

I also guess corporations are seeing the attitudes from younger people and where their social and political leanings are. Corporations maybe embracing and supporting these BLM protest because they see protest as future indicators of their consumer base. As publicly traded companies, they need to anticipate who their future consumers are, and the future consumers, at least from the makeup of the protests, will be more diverse, more female, and more liberal.

If democrats can rally and call it protesting, reps can do the same.

Take your bullshit tears somewhere else 😂

I think it still matters to a lot. We’ve had some bars and restaurants shut down again in Florida due to employees testing positive. Thus, people without jobs again .

that's the part the lockdown due to this chinese coronavirus matters the most imo: not providing any solutions just taking away the things and rights that matter to you.

I was classed as an essential worker here in Holland during this epidemic, so life never really changed for me. Life went on as usual.

What gets me is that during the peak of the pandemic here no face masks were needed, now that we have 2 new infections a day instead of 150 all of a sudden facemasks are mandatory

in other words : we don't give a shit about essential workers, you can be guinnea pigs for the rest of us.
