I feel the less learned about an actor's personal life the better.
A lot of the great ones are magnificent at hiding how disappointingly dim or irritating they are as people.

You do get the odd one that isn't a great actor they're just great naturally.

epicurius-seven I'd love it if directors got sent on to talk shows instead of actors. 9 times out of 10 actors don't seem to really even know anything about the movies they're in, apart from how to act as their own character, or if they do, they don't want to speak for the director anyway, so they won't say anything interesting. So most of the time it's pointless to listen to actors at all unless if it's someone like Tom Hanks who's got lots of cool stories.
