Football Manager 2026 Announced

SI Games announced new entry of FM series.

After the cancellation of FM 2025 let's see how they come up with the new game. Probably buy this year after 3 years.

Hopefully they actually upgraded it instead of releasing the same game over and over.

They switched to Unity game engine, which appears to have been the main reason for the delay. The 3D match engine as teased in the trailer will now look a lot more realistic.

Besides that, I'm not sure what else is going to be changed. I'm hoping for some massive AI changes.

I want to see AI managers actually make realistic transfers, and not fill their squads with positions they don't need. I also want to see AI managers adapt to my tactics. If I play with a very attacking mindset every week, I want the AI to adapt it's tactics to my play style.

I'm also expecting the new UI to be very polarising.

I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I hope SI hit it out the park, but I'm not confident.

Football Manager 26 shares first look at new gameplay, and it was worth the wait

After skipping last year's game, Football Manager 26 shares a glimpse of its enhanced gameplay, with new engine and deeper immersion.

Article:
Football Manager 26 certainly looks impressive, but it will need a lot more than EA FC-esque graphics to make its mark as one of the best simulation games around. That said, it's a good start. The transition to Unity seems to have been smooth, thanks to the doubled development time, and the result is a game that looks slick.

If the promise of accurate team sheets isn't alluring enough, take a look at that gameplay. The trailer shows numerous stadia, each more distinct than before. On the pitch, animations look much more lifelike, shots look more varied, and the whole experience generally feels more immersive.

While the real test will be in how the team at Sports Interactive has tweaked the tactics and simulation, it's great to see the game looking so good. After Football Manager 25 had such a troubled development to the point where it was canceled, the series looks to be back on track.

The FM26 system requirements are finally out alongside a new gameplay tease, and they're exactly what we expected, which is going to come as bad news to many players. For the best experience, you're going to need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or better alongside 12GB of RAM, specs that may well eliminate the basic work laptops that so many players have relied on for previous games.

If you're using a laptop, you'll need either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M or AMD R9 M375 GPU alongside an Intel Core i3 330M or AMD A6 5200 CPU.

As for the Football Manager 26 recommended specs, they are split in the same fashion. For desktops, you'll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT GPU alongside an Intel Core i5 9600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU. The RAM requirement also triples here to 12GB.

If you want to meet the recommended laptop specs, you'll want an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060M or AMD Radeon RX 6600M GPU paired with an Intel Core i5 1035G7 or AMD Ryzen 7 3750H CPU.

Fuck.. I dread to think about the amount of time i've spent on these games (started on cm 2, back in 1996)

I have been off the "wagon" for about 2 years, but this is tempting.
