You spend 40m on a keeper that arguably cost you the league (two big fuck ups against Gladbach alone), a solid to shaky CB, Rafinha lol and a young striker that isn't even allowed to play.
I'd argue it has more to do with Heynckes, as much as I dislike him.

So I just had a read through the CL final thread. God almighty. It was good to see some of the football-GAF faithful (most of who weren't Chelsea fans) calling out the anti-football brigade.
and it's impossible to say how much Neuer did for the confidence of the defense. he was the big reason that the defense improved that much.

It certainly would have to be a lot of money to convince Athletic management of the transfer (not just the player). Athletic only field Basque players, which means finding a replacement as good as a 23 year old Javi Martinez would be difficult. With Athletic, it isn't as easy as just convincing the players to leave.

Depends what stories you believe
Steve Keans agent was the man that helped the owners and the club to come together i believe (but don't have the articles to hand) but the following are facts, 2 months later our steady manager is sacked and replaced by a client of said agent, a few months after that the agents son (previously of aberdeen reserves) signs for the club, that agent also had a permanent base set up at the rovers training ground in the January window in 2011, the same period that we signed a player for £600k and for that same deal paid a (different) agent £1.4m (I think those figures are right)
Coincidences? Ineptitude? More? I couldn't possibly say, mainly because I know of people who have recieved letters from a certain mans legal team.
And now the pr man who stage manages all of Keans interviews etc is being appointed to the board?
I can't in good faith support that anymore
