It is the greatest system in the world and was made popular by his GOATNESS, God, Papa Francessico, TOTTTIIIIIIIII

basically there is no traditional central striker and a number 10 will usually drift into the striker position. it is to take away a point of reference from the defending team

I don't understand Ultimate Teams in EA Sports Titles. But I do know that it is a fucking cash cow for them.

50 exclusive legends for Ultimate Team. And of course, early access with the EA Access pass which is XBO exclusive.

It's basically a very unprecise name and means playing a midfielder/winger instead of (a) "classical" striker(s) in today's football.

There's no proper way to say how it is played generally because it depends on the player which plays as fake 9. You have players like Müller who are very much playing like a "proper" striker but get labelled as fake 9 because they've been playing in midfield most of the time. And you have players like Messi who drop back to midfield at times/rather often.

Also depends on the coach, you can say that there always needs to be some player in the centre and thus keep rotating the attacking players or you can keep the center empty if you have a Messi like fake 9.

Why do clubs do that? Barca did it because Messi is so good and wanted to play there. Bayern did it because Pep is gonna Pep. And Löw did it because there was only Miro Klose. I still think the idea was incredibly overhyped because if you don't have Messi, it's just better to play a "classical" striker.

Some variation of them. IIRC I think it was more of them all drifting around up front rather than any specific player being the false 9. Interesting that it was the year Ronaldo truly exploded

Word in Portugal is that Man United have a made a 20M€ for Marcos Rojo. Sporting wasn´t willing to accept it at first but apparently Rojo has asked to go to United and the board is considering the bid.

I think it is a good system if a team practice it over a full pre-season, but it does require a very intelligent and creative false 9, and again very intelligent wingers to identify when their time to attack is. Arsenal were almost playing as as a 4-6-0 with RVP and he did a great job with it.

Hilarious that they say they want to make it one of the biggest brands in gaming, but then stick it on XBOX. As carobonox said, this will surely come to PS some time after, unless MS are funding it.
