Does anyone know how long it takes for a purchase amount to be refunded to a debit card? I returned a game, that I bought with cash and about 14 dollars in game bucks, but returned it. They refunded the entire amount to my debit card, but I have not had the money returned to my account yet. Anyone know how long it takes?

Depends on your bank... 2-3 days tends to be the norm these days but I've seen it take longer.

depends on several factors, debit should be faster than a credit refund though.

My question is why the fuck they would refund your debit card something you paid cash for, doesn't usually happen like that.

Well, Best Buy usually does refund my debit card when I make a return there. What has me worried is the GameStop attendent didn't know what he was doing. They had like 3 people on the register trying to figure it out. I told them they could give me cash back, but they said since I paid partly with game bucks there was no way to separate the amount, so they would just refund my card. I kept the reciept, just in case.

If you paid with your debit card using a PIN and not CC through your debit card. Then they should of refunded your gamebux (trade in credit) by issuing another gamebux receipt then they should refunded the debit amount in cash. If you used CC through a debit card, then they should of credited that portion back to your CC (debit card) instead of in cash.

Yea Im a manager now, They should have refunded you cash and then gamebucks, when doing refunds it asks for original purchase type, he probably put in debit, when he should have put in gamebucks and the amount of.. it then splits the gamebucks from the total refund and gives you back gamebucks and his choice of waht he wants the other half of the refund to be.. IE: Cash/Card/StoreBucks.. he chose the card cause he saw you paid for debit, but cash is the same as debit since its an instant pull out of an account.

He just didnt know.. hes quite newb =[

Yeah, that's not true. They just didn't know how to do it. It takes a couple business days, so if you did it like Friday, you might not expect to see the money till Wednesday.
