Ideally it would be awesome to have five or more kids. My parents had tons of siblings, and it really benefited both them and me. I'm a little disappointed that my hypothetical kids will just have one uncle on their dad's side.

Practically, I could never imagine having more than two, unless I was very wealthy.

I know what you mean. My parents both came from families of four. But most of my cousins only have 1 sibling each, same with me.

I'd go with 2-3 for myself. 2 minimum.

Just had our second and we are stopping at that, both births were a trauma and I hated seeing my wife go through it, plus these constant feeds through the night are not fun and three kids is a new car and extra cost as most places class a family as two adults and two children.

We got lucky and we have a girl and a boy, Two years apart, testing times but love them both so much.

I'm expecting my 4th, will take a break now, but will probably end with 5-7, and my wife wants to adopt at some point.

About money, it comes and go and while I do worry about it, I'm sure I'll manage to pull it off. I have time for a second job now.

We just had our first. Took us 3 years, fertility treatments, IVF/PGD, the works - cost thousands. I want another one as soon as possible. Ideally we will have 3 or 4. I think big families are wonderful things.

5 or more, if we're discounting finances and health issues. I'm the youngest of 7. I was an accident, and my mom apparently cried when she found out. Now, they love me to death and wouldn't have traded me for anything. That's how I feel about pretty much every kid. You don't miss the ones you don't have, but when you have them, you're glad you have them.

Also, I feel like my wife and I are both forces for good in this world (usually, anyway), and my wife and I mix genes pretty darn well, so passing on our characteristics to more kids produces more good in the world.

Alas, financial and health issues are a thing, so... we'll see how many more we have.
