Forbidden West preload is up (PS5 and PS4)

The preload is my signal to buy the digital deluxe edition.

I only bought the original about year after release with the Complete edition and totally underestimated the quality of the game.

This time, I'm in on day 1.

Should I bother finishing the original? About 14 hours in, put it aside months ago.
If you didn't like that one there's a very strong chance that you won't like this one, it's the same developers they were overhyped for their last game, so they've had to learn nothing about game design for this one.

From what I've read most of the story is directly tied to the first game in a way that even experienced players may be challenged to remember certain instances from the first game. I've played it twice (second time in the last couple weeks). I find the part removal very satisfying but I'd say crank through the first game main story if you can.

I'm really interested to see how the looting mechanic works. Like if you don't bother shooting off the components you get no loot. At least that incentivises the combat rather than just overload and spam hardpoint.
That's... kind of how it already worked? And simply spamming one type of attack isn't utilizing the combat mechanics at all

It's annoying that I had to preload the 90+ gb PS4 then download the 80+gb PS5 version after the countdown runs out
huh. I assumed once you bought the ps4 version that you get entitlement tied to your account. So on launch day you can download the ps5 version without having to download the ps4 version.

Sony did say that they will provide an upgrade path to ps5 on launch day.

Do you really have to download the PS4 version first? I thought you can just wait for release, buy the free update and just download the PS5 version.
That means we can't preload 😕

RIP this lady, she will be remembered via Memes.

Yes, but for me it's acceptable because i am on gigabit and PSN almost delivers the full speed.
But i would be annoyed if i had to wait several days for the upgrade path to be available or sth.
I will report soon when it launches in six hours on my PS5

Let us give thanks and commence the hype countdown.

Remember if you bought the PS4 version for the free PS5 upgrade, it's not worth preloading as you will have to download the full PS5 upgrade after release!
Are you sure? I am expecting to put in the disk, have it force install the PS4 version, then have to download the upgrade. I mean isn't Sony going to make me earn that 10 bucks?

So glad you mentioned downloading after release. It's been driving me crazy wondering if that was when it will actually give me the ps5 version.

The game is absolutely stunning on PS5 quality mode… very blurry on performance mode.

PS4 / PS4 Pro is too much tuned down with missing features.

Have a nice playing.

sadly can't pre-load thanks to buying the ps4 version and having to wait for release day to get the free upgrade :(

What are the chances Sony pulls a Sony and ends up charging for the ps5 upgrade despite their promise?

None, people are literally already upgrading to the free PS5 versions in other regions where the game has been released
