Forget 360 vs. PS3 what about 360 vs. PC?

Any word on how Xbox 360 stacks up to PC tech?

I thought I heard something like PC's wont catch up to 360 performance until a year later.
So will Xbox 360 have the best version of PC games like Quake 4?

I was also wondering about this. And how is the Xbox 360 retailing for $300 when high-end graphics cards go for $400 to $500?

Because those graphics cards themselves have to turn a profit. They can't sell them at a loss, because that's all they sell. Consoles are sold at a loss.

Who really gives a flying Fuck...PC games are a dying breed

When someone brings full-time keyboard/mouse style gaming to the consoles, PC gaming will die a fairly quick death. To be on par with most of the next generation games, people will have to spend considerably more to upgrade their PCs than they will to purchase a console.

I used to be an avid PC gamer, but now that the consoles have reached the ability to display at a respectable resolution - I'm counting the days until most of my gaming is done on consoles.

I don't think they'll just simply be able to add keyboard/mouse mode to games on consoles though.. the difficulty in say the 'fps' genre would have to be seriously ramped up if that were allowed (except for that one dude who said he could beat anyone at Counter-Strike with his gamepad vs. keyboard/mouse of course..).

Why would PC gaming die a quick death?

I was thinking the same thing about console games. Now with multimedia PC's able to run HD resolution games through your TV. The incentive to buy a standalone game console is pretty low.

For me it's come down to whether I buy a 360 Xbox this fall and choose from a handful of games to play, or buy a graphics card and see performance benefit across 100's of games already available.
