Julie Kirchner, the former executive director of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), has been named chief of staff at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the largest federal law enforcement agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Kirchner worked at America’s most influential anti-immigrant organization for almost ten years before leaving in 2015 to become an immigration advisor to the Trump campaign.

Since its founding in 1979, FAIR has push an agenda centered on a complete moratorium on all immigration to the United States and defined by vicious attacks on non-white immigrants. Its founder was white nationalist John Tanton, an avowed eugenicist who created the modern anti-immigrant movement in the United States.

"I've come to the point of view that for European-American society and culture to persist requires a European-American majority, and a clear one at that,” Tanton wrote in 1993.

Dan Stein, FAIR’s longtime president, has complained that today’s immigrants are engaged in “competitive breeding” to diminish the America’s white majority...

No real surprise, but still is appalling and upsetting.

Agreed on it not being a surprise at a point - which is even more distressing.

Has every single choice made so far been the most inappropriate person possible for each job? It sure seems like it.

fucking fascists

EDIT: though don't worry, maybe that guy will appear on this thread to tell us that maybe we're jumping the gun, that everybody should give the Trump Administration a chance and that they're just picking the bestest, most brilliantest people for the job!

I can only think of Mattis as being any good. All the other picks range from bad to uncomfirmable.

It's almost as if someone is trying to destroy the US from within

Oh look, another Nazi appointed to a high position in the Trump Administration.

How long before there's goosestepping in the streets?

Is there like an easy to read spreadsheet that tracks which Trump appointee is linked to which particular hate group?

I feel like that would be really useful to help us keep track of things.

So what's the excuse this time that this isn't exactly what it is?

Meanwhile the people who should be fighting this as hard as possible would rather get caught up in arguing the ethics of punching a nazi, then act suprised we are losing the battle against literal fascists.

Bannon is the most powerful man in the white house. Trump does anything he wants. He's also the one that wrote most of Trump's horrible inauguration speech. The media forgot how horrible Bannon is though and he's now normalized.

Who actually think of out-populating white people in America when trying to have kids?

Well, this is why Trump kicked his campaign by taking advantage of anti-immigrant bigotry. He and his advisers knew it was a potent force among much of the population. Even if the wall never happens it's a simple thing for Trump to plop down a fascist, nazi, and bigot in every position that relates to immigration. It's great optics for racist white people.

White America seems to have this one unique view on economic anxiety that for some odd reason don't seem to pop up much in other communities here.

Just when a proposed UK-US visa deal would make it easier for me to work in the US, shit like this makes me want to reconsider immigrating to the US as a minority

The fuck?

At this point I'm hoping all of this is fake news.

I think this story is somewhat fake and misleading. Julie Kirchner was never appointed to be Chief of Staff of the CBP like this article states. This news story was based on some unconfirmed third party tweets, which turned out to be false.

Fuck this.

I have decided over the past few weeks that CPB should not be primarily law enforcement. Instead it ought to be a welcoming social service agency. The only law enforcement should be making sure that goods are properly taxed.

Edit:

I see the bump now.

Yet my point stands.

More editing:

I only see an updated Mother Jones article. I see nothing refuting that she is serving as a temporary advisor to CPB.

All that talk of hispanics being an ascendant force in American politics... was it just hype?
They are, but republicans have decided that rather than pivot for a coming future, they're just going to choke the life out of that community so that future never comes.

America's social regression is incredibly sad to witness, we were in such a hopeful time with Obama in office, then this disgusting troglodyte monster gets elected and all the goodwill Obama had built is being obliterated in the worst possible way, America can be such a backwards country sometimes.

I can't even begin to describe how angry I am right now. Holy shit. I don't wanna hear anyone try to tell me that Trump and his team aren't racist ever again.
