That's not how racing works. The only thing he knows that leading the race after the fist chicane is the most important thing.
He can't risk losing the second place for the unrealistic situation that Hamilton somehow got a super start.

Pretty much. This was more due to Vet having a relatively poor start, Ver a decent one, and Kimi a super start. Outside of Vet closing the gap, which is normal, in T1 there was never going to be enough space.
