Ah, sorry, I meant Shiki Ryougi, the woman in my avatar. Those are some freaky images, I'll admit.
edit: To clarify further, I was thinking this image specifically (should someone decide to help me out):
I tried my hand at it but the results were less than spectacular.
I'm sorry to come with another request so soon, but I won't use if it it doesn't work. There is a gif for a YuriYuri character and I don't know extract a still picture from a gif. Can someone make a transparent avatar of this gif with that character laughing?

No specifics, just an avatar that doesnt look stretched or disproportionate like when I do it

Just wondering if anybody could make the background transparent and as close to the max resolution allowed by the forums as possible. Smoke in the background could stay but if it's easier to do it without then just remove it.

mask or erase the area you don't want. Make sure there is nothing in the background with solid color. Save as PNG, and make sure your img is no bigger than 100x120. Anything bigger will not display the transparency properly. I upload most avatars i create to IMGUR and they display properly.

I get that, but what I mean is I see some people do these really smooth crops that leave little if any pixelation.
You can use the pen tool to make your selection. Personally i like to use masks and with my wacom go zoom in and clean it up so its perfect.
Just depends on the resolution of the image you are working on and how complex it is.
