The Windows Store app sure is fantastic. It's taking infinitely longer to download the "Forza Motorsport 7 VIP" component of the FM7 Ultimate package, than the ~95GB base game. It's been stuck at 90% for a couple of hours now at 300Kb/s.

Well what a fabulous game this is. Have put about three hours in now, 2/3 on Xbox and an hour on PC.

So many great features. Having the menus available all the time, even when loading events, is superb.

My favourite new thing is the zoomed dashboard, which is especially good in racing models with restricted views.

The dynamic skies are great too. Just done a hot hatch night race at Sebring and the sun began to rise towards the end. It looked beautiful.

Forza has always had good sound, but crikey they've really gone beyond this time. So many noises within the car and the collision sounds are terrific too.

Went for the Plati.ru site, it was a bit of a ball ache navigating the russian store, chrome translate kept messing it up, and I kept getting a load of currency mismatch errors, but got there in the end, had to use Edge browser and google translate....make sure you add the cards from the purchase screen, and don't try to add them to your account first, it won't work, and the Hilton address is what I used

Had a quick blast on the PC version this morning. Here are my specs for those wondering:

i5 2500k @ 4.3GHz
8GB RAM
GTX 1070 (8GB VRAM)

I left every graphical setting on dynamic and default. The intro had stutters, the intros to the 3 races had stutters and when loading tracks, the game stutters, but I just put it down to the game loading assets.

When racing, the game performs fine a lovely smooth 60 all the way. Graphically it could be better, but I'll put that down to the dynamic graphical options and my specs. Haven't experienced any microstutters or stuttering menus - stuff like that could grate on me over time, but it's not the end of the world, especially in menus, I'd rather have that and smooth racing at a set 60fps than have a shitty racing experience. Love the fact you can now change assists and other settings on the fly too.

Went with the McLaren F1 for my free car because why the hell not, its free! Thing is a beast, sounds raw, performs like a monster. I've just left all race settings as default for now, but I will be looking to up the laps to 7 to see if that affects the credits payout. Assists wise, TCS off, ABS off, Manual gears (for the first time - and that feels great), Braking line only but I'm hoping to break that reliance soon.

I've got to applaud T10 on the sound design front, it sounds fantastic. Can hear the little nuances in each vehicle, the pops and crackles, the gravel spreading over the track, the rumble strips, the tire squeal, the clunks of the gear box in race cars, the glorious engine notes, the turbos whining and so much more.

Racing in the rain is also so much better in this instalment. There's no big puddles to look out for in the same area anymore, its all spread evenly across the track and it glistens beautifully - can hear the sound of the spray being chucked off the tires as they start to break traction. It makes for a more believable experience compared to Forza 6.

I just hope T10 can pull it together with the FFB, because the work they put in on the wheel support on PC, it would be a real game changer for Forza as a whole. It's probably the missing piece of the puzzle (and tire / pit strategies - I hear you GHG!).

As of right now, it's a very nice game with great attention to detail and high polish. I can't wait for work to be over so I can get back to it! Oh, also tried out Forza Vista in the pit lane, that's very nice too.

Works with your normal account (the one you are logged in with when you purchase the product), you don't need a second account, you just need to enter an address for the payment option when you buy it

Can someone with a good PC tell me if the Rear View Mirror displays Rain Spray?

It’s still a jarring thing on Xbox to look and see everything calm in the Rear-View Mirror whether in the car or on the screen...then when I look back...Spray Everywhere!!!

EDIT: Ah, the good old Rewind Fades To Black After 10+ Minutes of Racing. Not a huge issue, but can be jarring.

Put about 2hrs into xbox and was great. Put about an hour into the pc version now and it runs so well (dynamic high 1080p with 200% resolution scale) and the game looks so good.

I have one issue though, I honestly feel like the AI has no awareness of you at all. I have gone down the inside for so many legitimate passes and the AI takes the line into the corner as if they have no idea you are there, its really frustrating.

Played a few races and I'm pretty impressed with it. Having a proper Forza game on PC is a real treat. Will buy it again when it hits Steam (I know, but seeing Killer Instinct on Steam makes me hope all Xbox games will one day be available there).

Played ~5 races or so and it feels pretty good so far. I've only used one car(F40) and it doesn't feel like a massive leap from Forza 6 as far as the physics/handling goes, but at least it feels great with a controller. The performance and IQ is amazing too, even though the overall look is still very Forza and feels kind of flat I guess? Only performance issue so far are night races which drop into the low-40's at the start of the race @ 4K/Ultra settings on a 6700K @ 4.8ghz and 980 Ti.

The sound is really good too, lots of crackles and backfires on the F40 which sounds great.

And when I was too wide some even try to pass me on the inside, sometimes they even try to pass on the outside.

I think the AI is pretty great when you raise their level, but sometimes you'll have to chose longer races to be able to catch the first place.

Actually, with the first race giving 100 max points, 2nd 200, 3rd 300 and 4th 400...you could win the first 3 races...finish 3rd on the 4th Race and finish 2nd overall in the Series...

If I finished 2nd in this race, I’d still win...but only by 5 Points.
