Franchises That Just Disappeared?

I don't know if "disappeared" applies, but the Switch 2 needs an EXCLUSIVE Kid Icarus: Uprising remake, and it needs it YESTERDAY.

Viewtiful Joe

One of the best action beat-em-up games of all time, and it deserves more love, and more sequels.

fun as shit, but the last time i played i think i got stuck on the shark boss

i'm ashamed to admit i never beat it

CONDEMNED

A remake / remaster of the first game would go so hard

Saw Shadow Hearts mentioned too, I feel like we don't need any new games in the series since I and II told the one story, and the 3rd game wasn't related or as good, but at least remasters of those games would be cool so modern audiences could see why they're mentioned so much

Most of mine are just Rockstar franchises that vanished when it became the GTA / Red Dead company. I really miss Midnight Club, LA was fantastic, but modern takes on Manhunt, Smuggler's Run... Rockstar Table Tennis, also would be nice.

Elder Scrolls
Fallout
Twisted Metal
Tiberirum Wars
Ratchet and Clank
System Shock
Dishonored
Timesplitters
Half Life
StarCraft
Red Alert
Infamous
Prototype
Metal Slug

Best action RPGs I played back then. Probably around 1993 or 1994 I think. At the time, 3D gaming was the big thing in RPGs and shooters before 3D cards even came out, so you'd think they'd churn out more. But they stopped.

There is actually a recent sequel that came out I think 5 years ago, but got rated total dogshit. I'm not counting that one! Wasnt even made by Origin/EA.

Wild arms disappearing is criminal.

Which also made me realize breath of fire disappeared too. Unless you want to count some weird mobile game.

Dragon quarter buried the franchise and yet 4 is one of the best games I've ever played.

A lot, but the ones I care about most and would love to see a comeback of:

-Resistance
-Viewtiful Joe
-Maximo
-Mass Effect
-Grandia
-Skies of Arcadia

Also, what about franchises where we only get one installment every ten years or so? Cuz if that counts, DMC.

Max Payne

Remakes for Max Payne 1 and 2 are still in the works at Remedy going by the last time that I've heard about them. Max Payne 1 remake is still going to be slated for late 2026. The Max Payne 2 Remake is slated to be a 2027 release. We'll see.

Still RIP James McCaffrey
