Okay, first off, why doesn't Frank Zappa get as much credit as say...The Beatles? Can someone please put this in perspective for me? According to my minimal research "Freak Out!" came out in 1965. The Beatles have been around since late 50s early 60s? And they were just a poppy band back then and didn't release any of their truly experimental stuff until later on, correct?

Anyone, what's your favorite Zappa ablum? I also really like Steve Vai's quirky stuff, "Tender Surrender" is such a friggin' awesome song.

I definately see how much Zappa has influenced bands like Mr. Bungle and Primus. What are some other bands I might like?

Joe's Garage is one of the best albums ever made. But I'd have to say that my favorite Frank Zappa songs are "Muffin Man" and "Titties and Beer".

I always thought of Zappa as a joke, not his music, that stuff was incredibly complex, but is lyrics. I mean, "Valley Girl", give me a break.

If you like music that is all over the fucking place try The Dillinger Escape Plan, that shit is insane. You gotta like metal and hardcore though......otherwise, skip it.

Yeah, I'm a fan of DEP. Especially the EP they did with Mike Patton.
