My shop had nothing going, and they were out of the only free comic I wanted, the Oni Press one. Ah well, at least I bought Second Coming part 4 and 5 (FUCK NEW MUTANTS #12) and issues 2-5 of Secret Warriors.

Meh, didn't get much. Just a DC Kids thing, and Irredeemable/Incorruptible.

Some cool bookmarks though, and a couple of posters. Also picked up some back issues of Fables/Invincible for $1 each.

Kinda bummed they had the Manga section closed. I wanted to pick up Yotsuba 9.

If you're talking about the English version, I'm pretty sure that doesn't come out until December. 8 just came out, though.

Well, I hit up all 4 stores in the area. The one that had a decent selection of the freebies was limiting to 3 of each, but he was kind enough to let me have a fourth. Two others were limiting to 5, and the last I went to was wiped out of almost everything. Altogether I guess I got 16 of the available comics, plus a few leftovers from past years (a Thor and All-Star Superman #1). I also grabbed the War Machine Hero Clix.

But, the best deal of all was at the last shop I went to. They were running 50% off everything (new issues, back stock, hard covers, and trades). If it was a comic book, it was 50% off. In addition they have an amazing selection of 50 cent comics (at least a dozen long boxes) that had Astonishing X-Men variants, Ultimate Spider-Man, the entire run of 52...who knows what else. A lot of stuff, some of it valued in the $5-10 range.

Comic Book Welfare Day was good to me. :X

Although I have to knock some shops that didn't have any of the indy freebies. Come on guys, I'd like to sample some of the small press stuff. I know shops foot the cost for these; but it's ostensibly a sales day to appeal to new readers as well.

Did anybody spot the free comic from Storm Lion? I'll trade for something if you can snag me one.

Kind of bummed about that, but got a ton of additional shit to read.

Well I got Mouse Guard and Green Hornet from heavkyink.com. But Atomic Robo was out of stock.

I went to a Coliseum of Comics where they let me choose 3 plus the Superman issue and then I went to Sci Fi City since it's pretty close and they were letting people take one of each issue. So I did pretty much. I saw a Star Wars Clone Wars at CoC that looked like it could be good but SFC didn't have it there. Got a few repeats as well.

Incorruptible / Irredeemable seems like it could be pretty good. Really depends on why the guy went rogue because there's a lot of ways they could make the story crap.

Oh, and Invincible #1 for a dollar.
