Unfortunately, yes. I remember from my old digital subscription you'd also get them little subscription forms that are normally stuck randomly in-between pages.

Their form doesn't do any kind of basic validation at all. I put in my UK address (with "UK" in the state field and my alphanumeric postal code in the zip field) and it went through fine. Seems like you need this Zinio Reader thing to make use of the magazine though.

I scanned my system with Ad-Aware after installing Zinio Reader and did not find any evidence of spyware. It does have a "Delivery Manager" that sits in your system tray, but that's no different than, say, Gamespot's DLX, and it's easy enough to remove it.

IAWTP, if you format your drive and try to open the damn magazines you won't be able to cause the stupid DRM (Digital Rights Managment protection) in the magazines, I spent 2 months disputing with Zinio that I subscribed to those issues, now they're no longer available to download for free from my account, and they wanted me to pay for every individual issue I purchased!. The first chance you get use a virtual printer and convert the entire thing into a PDF document so you can keep them for as long as you want and no BS DRM system to deal with.

Im on my second year of free Gamepor. I signed up for one free year and got it, and just as that expired I found 6 free isuses offer.

Yes, the Zinio reader is horribly horrible. But I think you could sign up for this, then request you get the paper mag afterwards. My sub is good utill 2007, so I'll just wait until something else comes along.
