So does anyone know of a free program to make PDFs? or should I just go for the trial from Adobe?

I've got a 33 page report I want to distribute, and its gotta be PDF!!!!!

I'm pretty sure you can export OpenOffice documents as PDFs.

The best way of making PDFs I ever found (in terms of document size and quality) was to print to file using any old Windows Postscript printer driver (I used Apple Laserwriter ones, IIRC) then use Ghostview to convert to PDF.

I got the CutePDF thing, and it worked for what I needed. It uses that Ghostwhatever thing. So i imagine its the same sort of thing you're talking about.
