Totally agree with this... there hasn't really been a lot of stuff I've been trying to claim, but as someone with the occasional game to give away (and who occasionally sees something that strikes his fancy), I really think Modbot is the way to go -- or at least offering up to someone who PMs. Not hard to use (though every time I'm giving something away, I wind up looking at the tutorial again), and raffles mean that it's not just about who's the quickest at data entry.

Honestly I don't think there's a huge difference between ModBot or embedding it into an email. Both options repel lurkers, since you have to have an account, but by using ModBot you can see who takes it. It's the only benefit. But that still doesn't mean the winner will actually contact the giver and thank him (not counting when the giver doesn't want you to thank him of course), and if he doesn't do that, it's not the type of offence to put him on the blacklist for =. Maybe ethically inappropriate.

In short, I'd say both embedding it in your post and using ModBot are good alternatives.

I don't like email because then your in a mad rush to redeem it as fast as possible. Modbot or just PMing is much more civilized.

It worries me that I think a lot of my Humble purchases are based solely upon fear......I know that I don't need them, but if I decide at some point in the future that I might want to play a game that's been bundled, I'd rather know I got it when it was cheap. I know it's a commonality of almost everyone who posts in this thread but it's kind of depressing that I'm not going to get around to playing (properly) about 90% of the games I impulse buy. (*facepalm* posted in the wrong thread but i suppose it's still relevant....)

Huh? I received a PM from ModBot 2 entitled "Your giveaway receipt" a few minutes after posting stating that "[redacted] claimed your Schein key", I don't know why my post hasn't been edited.
However, I didn't receive anything regarding the other 2, so something must have gone wrong, indeed.
My first attempt at using ModBot resulted in an error stating that "None of the keys you submitted were able to be processed", so I checked the help thread as instructed and used the "nuke" command to reset the keys, according to the confirmation PM that followed my second attempt, it worked for 2 out of 3 (I'm still getting the same error for Total War Battles: KINGDOM after several attempts), but evidently it didn't.
If someone more qualified than me is willing to clean up my mess, I'll send them the keys so I can spare myself further embarrassment.
