I'm afraid it often is. When there's a page in this thread where there are a few posts in which someone is givng away multiple keys, when you glance over the list of the winners there are definitely a few names that you will see very very often. It seems some people try and grab every single thing that's offered. I wonder if they even play all the games they get.
I'm probably just a bit salty, but this and people just sniping stuff that's hidden behind quotes all the time without even saying thanks is something that I think really sucks.
I think it should be expected that if there's a place where things are being given out, there are going to be a number of people who frequent it a lot looking to snatch up everything they can. I've just accepted it even though I t don't like it. I just hope that whoever gets whatever I give away is enjoyed by someone and not just hoarded when someone else might like it...
URGGH I don't even want to think about it.
That said, I have a few things to giveaway today!
First is a copy of Dustforce DX on steam. When the winner claims this they will be added to my friends list which is standard for gifting out of your inventory. Please do not remove me from you list, winner, as I have the Soundtrack DLC I will send you via steam after you get the game. After which I will remove you from my friends anyways so nothing to worry about.
Second is a copy of Torchlight 2 for steam.
Third thing I have to giveaway is a code for a year Premium subscription for Siftd.net. This is Snane Satterfield's new gaming news aggregation site. With this code you get access to the site with customizable "sifts", their premium content, and early viewing of the Pachter Factor.

There is a BLOCK to block certain people, BLACKLIST for... a list of people? and I almost used NOWINNERSDAILY to prohibit people who've won in the last day, but I backed off from that at the last second.

BLACKLIST is a community blacklist... What this effectively means is that anyone who has been permanently blocked from winning giveaways by two or more users is on this list.
And yes, it is possible to permablock someone from winning any of your giveaways, using PERMABLOCK. Just use it wisely, 'cos there's no undoing that.
I didn't know that there was a permablock option. I'd only do that to someone if I learned with certainty (like an admission "why do you care you were giving it away anyways?") that they resold whatever I gave them elsewhere. That's my biggest fear really, I see it as someone taking a game away from a Gaffer who might've wanted to play it for a measly couple of wingwangs.
I thought the blacklist thing was for people who were blocked like... more than once or recently or something
but I guess permablock makes sense, too.
Thanks for educating me on this. I might use it in future, but I'm not sure how many people got trigger happy with Permablock, so maybe not I guess lol...

People who get on the blacklist usually deserve it (usually get backlash in the community for selling off keys won, etc.). I'm actually not sure if it's 2+ or a different number. Anyway, in my experience, the blacklist has done the job.
