"FREE to a good home" thread |20XX Edition| No begging, requests, or taking advantage

PS2 era RPGs? Definitely interested! What kind of PS2 are you giving away? Slim or regular? I will definitely keep an eye on this thread as I've been meaning to pick up a PS2 since I sold mine a while back and have recently picked up the Drakengard games to get ready for 3.

Whatever you do for the PS2 giveaway, you have to make it interesting and fun. Don't just do a "whoever quotes first gets it" kinda thing. Come up with something to keep everyone on edge.

Meh ramuh do it however you feel tbh and don't let anyone persuade you to change your giveaway format unless you really wanna change it.

Umm... that DOES keep everyone on edge. Look at Master Ninja's giveaways.

This is true though, I remember when he did that Wire complete series giveaway...whew. You never know what hes going to giveaway.

I think I want to keep it a first come first serve (maybe a pick a number or something), but I I'll make it where I'll start and give the bundles every hour with a few games each. I'll keep the bundles interesting, as I'm not putting all the bestes games in just a few bundles. All the Digital devil saga games with Shin Megani Tensai Nocturne in it wouldn't be in the same bundle ( for example). Exciting times.

Wow I missed that one :(

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by pick a number? Sometimes the simplest approach is the best, where if you're the first to quote the post you get it and then you're out, so you gotta make sure that item is what you want for this session since it's not really fair to claim games multiple times (although you can do that if you want as the organizer).
It becomes super-frantic though when you do it like this, just FYI.

Hmm. Ya I don't want any confusion or butt hurt feelings about this. Simple is key, since I don't want/need stress on parting with these games (Oh Rogue Galaxy). I am going to take pics tommorow, put a premilnary post with a start time (like on the hour on the next hour) and then starting posting every hour. First to repost gets it, as long as they agree to shipping charge, then moving on until I get rid of them all.

Thanks you guys for your input.

Ok guys. I've never done this before. But I want to give my PS2 with competent cables away with all my PS2 games as well. I'll have a list tomorrow. It's mostly PS2 games (rpgs, etc) with some PS1 games (Fear Effect, etc). The question I have is, how does this work? I see alot of digital things but not many physical items given away. From what I understand is that someone agrees to take your gear off your hand and out of your closet and they pay for the shipping?

That's pretty awesome of you.

Raffle them through modbot. IIRC you can set the raffle time to an hour, but you have to manually start those every hour.

Ok GAFers. I've decided the list of games I'll be giving away. I decided not to give my PS2 away (is the original from Oct 2000) because it's pretty finicky.

I have also decided to give some PS1 and Gamecube games away in bundles. So, the games are PS1, PS2, and Gamecube games. Most if not all are RPG or SRPGs. There is about 30 games.

A few things about the giveaway:
- IF YOU DON'T ANSWER MY PM WITHIN 10 MINUTES, YOU DON'T WIN!
- These games are US-region games.
- Be sure to actually look at the bundle to see if you want it.
- To win, just respond and Quotes the pic/post..first wins...and that is it.
- Claimer agrees to pay shipping costs (probably only a few bucks unless it's with a strategy guide). I'll PM the winner with the details.
- Claimer has to play the game! That is the reason I'm giving this away. It is just collecting dust in a closet and I want these great games to be played! I don't want someone to get it just to sit in their closet.
- I will be doing this in two-three or four game bundles, as the list is alot and I don't want to stress about shipping/ getting money for shipping. In case you don't like a game in the bundle, please don't claim it just for one game unless you are willing to re-gift the others.
- The last time I played these games they worked, they have been sitting in gaming sleeves since then. I won't guarantee they will work. (As I don't have the time to test every game again)
- Finally, I will be posting the picture/post of the first bundle starting tomorrow. Me and my wife are busy this evening, so I can't do it tonight. (sorry).
- The first bundle will be January 15. 1700 Eastern Time (That is 5:00PM). I will post the next time after each bundle.
- A GAFer is only allowed to claim ONE bundle.
- If for whatever reason, (claim can't pay shipping cost, doesn't want it, etc) I'll repost a new time for that bundle.
- Good Luck guys!

Sounds good. Looking forward to it.
Do you want to add a rule that a single GAFer can only claim 1 bundle? You probably don't want one guy with an interstellar internet connection claiming everything.

Ya, I forgot that. :) It's in the message now. Thanks for the heads-up.

Ramuh, US only I take it?

TBH I don't mind shipping it outside the US. Unless, its really hard to ship internationally or something. I'll be using a FEDEX next to my house, and i think I can ship it outside the US easily. As long as the outside US GAFer wants to pay the international shipping cost, I don't mind. Oh another note, these are all US-region games. So there's that too. I'll update that in message.

Right on, thanks!

Looking forward to the giveaway! I've recently been on a JRPG kick and I've been looking for stuff to play after Ni no Kuni, so this comes at a perfect time. :)

I plan on doing different bundles at different times. Just for those who are either working or can't make a certain time everyday. For example, the first is tomorrow at 1700 Eastern time, the next one could be at like 2200 on the next day, etc. I'll make sure it's a different time so people with different schedules has a chance. At this stage it looks like it's going to be either four to six bundles, total.

5pm eastern I'm getting ready for work so thanks for having different times! ...Or I can get ready earlier and stare at my PC for 15 minutes before I leave for work :P

Giving away another Skulls of the Shogun on Steam. Reply with your Steam ID if you want it (please don't be someone who's already vacuumed up 800 things, like the last person I gave something to!) :)

edit: gave to Divius. enjoy :)

Final Reminder. 15 minutes until 1st giveaway. Please see previous post on rules, etc.

Also would like to apologize in advance, as the image will probably be crappy as I couldn't find any adequate lighting in the whole damn house. And it's my first image upload.

Just to predict what is going to happen. At the stroke of 5 everyone is going to hammer refresh, instantly quote your post without reading it saying "Me?" and pray. There will then be a couple dozen new posts all hoping they some how won the mad rush and that the games posted are something they don't already own and for a system they have.

Lol. I Hope not. I did say to please actually look at the games, as I want them to be played.

For a large giveaway like this I wouldn't recommend doing a "first to reply" type of thing. There are some better alternatives out there.

I like to try to do something among the lines of a quiz or "#th person to PM me" for stuff sometimes.
