Haha, whoa, give the poor guy more than 10 mins. Is it really so urgent? Sorry to butt in like this, I just feel bad for the guy who thinks he won something and gets it taken away because he's at work and can't be on GAF constantly, or something...just my two cents.

It's been thirty, and I have to go soon. I'm not trying to be harsh but I am not going to sit around all day waiting on a reply to a PM. I'll give him/her an hour and then I'm regifting it. I'm running errands today and putting the two bundles in the mail. I won't have time to do it later.
Given that you are telling winners they won less then a minute after they do, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect them to be able to stick around for another few minutes to finish the deal. They obviously had no problem making sure they were at their PC at noon to hammer F5, I doubt they passed out or ran away after hitting submit at 12:01.
Like when someone calls you and you just miss it so you call RIGHT BACK and they are no where to be found.

I definitely don't mean to give you a hard time. I competely understand where you're coming from, I just felt a bit bad for the guy if he's SOL over the time delay.

Especially since he will go back to the post office to ship more packages for the other giveaways. Does he save money by sending 2 packages at a time? Can send just one today and 3 next time? Lol. Just an outside observer, but what the hell is going on here? hahaha. Do PMs on GAF literally self destruct in 10 minutes if unanswered? Is today at 1:30PM the last time the post office will ever deliver mail again? I really don't under stand the 'timely manner' or 'i've got stuff to do' things. By all means, go do your stuff! I assure you that if a PM hits your inbox while your gone, it will still be there when you get back.
And if for some reason you can only mail it right now, then Im sure the 'winner' would have been fine waiting until you mail the next set. I know you are doing a nice thing and mailing gifts out, but these weird restrictions and goal-post moving is very very strange.

I find it kinda funny that people are getting so upset over a free (shipping not included) giveaway. Yeah, it does suck that there wasn't a "respond in 10 min or bust" stipulation at the beginning at that there are probably a number of reasons the original winner couldn't respond, but it is ramuh's giveaway. If it happened to me, yeah I'd probably be bummed and disappointed, but that's life.

Doing something nice or giving something away does not give someone license to be insensitive, unfair, or wrong. Creating an elaborate giveaway doesn't give someone a golden key to NeoGAF and the ability to do whatever they want.
I am not interested in what Ramuh is giving away, but I appreciate that he has chosen to give it away to fellow GAFers. Unfortunately it is far too often that I see these specialty giveaways with 'pre-giveaway' hype turn into an excuse for someone to pump up their ego. I am not saying that is what Ramuh is doing, but the whole 'no PM in 10 minutes' thing felt like a red flag in this regard.

Congrats to kennah and Cheddahz on your previous bundles. They have been shipped. As to upcoming "FREE" bundles that I'm giving away, I would like to make sure everyone knows exactly how it works as I thought what was common sense needs to be explained out.
-If you "win", you don't "win" until you "claim" your prize by responding to the PM I send you. There is a 15 minute respond window on that. I don't find it unfair to expect the "claimer" to actually claim the prize within a reasonable window. Just in case anybody is wondering. So for EXAMPLE. Let's say you figured out the puzzle, or you respond first etc. I'll reply in the thread saying you won. Immediately following this, I'll PM you. This is where you have to respond within the window.
- In the future, all bundles will be shipped free. (I shipped the last two free as well).
- No more first come, first win. From now on, its going to be a puzzle.
- Again, I'm sorry this is getting convoluted, but it seems everything has to be explained in minute detail so there is no future confusion.
- Next time for giveaway bundle will be different! Because I have a company party in downtown Baltimore this weekend it's going to be after this weekend. So sometime during the HALFTIME of the AFC Championship Game. The game starts at Sunday January 19th 3:00PM Patriots at Broncos. So, during the halftime, I'll post the puzzle. Go Broncos.
