There is also a 4 DVDs version for 30 euro (I might pick that one).

oh and it's not the director(japanese) cut and that sucks.

They probably realize the French aren't dumb/rich enough to buy the same movie 3 times. Miramax is bad about barebones-to-special edition exploitation.

I will continue my boycott of the DVDs of Kill Bill until a special edition set is released in the US. My love for the film aside, this is some grade-A bullshit, and I've been fucked over before (purchased the normal DVDs a day before they announce the SE).

Apparently it was put in black and white for us because of ratings issues.

It's in color ONLY in Japan. The rest of the world got it in black and white. Color version sucks btw, you can really tell they used water or something instead of fake blood in a lot of scenes(you can notice that in the B&W cut too). You also get to see Sophie getting his other arm cut, which wasn't necesary, since it was suggested in the regular cut("Give me your arm!")...strange that in both cuts you see Sophie rolling down the hill with one arm intact.

Anyway, I like it more in black and white.
