Friggin Cats, Man...

My cat went missing for ten days and those were some of the most stressful days of my life. It was also a heavy rain week and all I could do was to keep thinking how bad she would be in the streets. She appeared ten days later, she had lost like 1/3 or more of her weight and at the first chance she had she came to my lap and cat-cried for a good while.

Be grateful that in the end in your case it was nothing. Those little furry balls are family.

My girlfriend and I got a kitten a few months ago and once we had him for a few weeks he started going missing every now and then. We'd run around the apartment checking ever nook and cranny and then he'd eventually just show up without us ever finding out where he'd been. After one of these incidents we were standing in our kitchen discussing where he could be going off to, and during this time he was sitting in an empty spot where a drawer was supposed to be.

Then bottom kitchen drawer had been broken for some time and the super had recently removed it for repair. Our kitten liked to hang out in the hole where the drawer was supposed to be, but we always checked that spot when he went missing and it's not like he could go anywhere from there.

Well sure enough while we were talking in the kitchen he had just vanished again. We were both so confused as we had swornnhe was right in the kitchen with us in that hole. Realizing he must be somewhwre in the space, I opened a drawer above and sure enough he was chilling with our sandwich bags two drawers higher than the hole. He had been climbing up the back of the drawers like a damn ladder! This guy is a whacko!

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.

Our cat hated our first kid, then he got old enough to know not to bother it, then we had another, which likes to grab.

I can see our cat doing this at the first opportunity.

Happy it all ended well, OP. My sister's cat has done some disappearing acts, but be of good cheer! At least yours doesn't randomly jump on the bed around 4am and puke. Worst alarm EVER.

Apparently it's not because their butt itches, but because of some gland that doesn't burst or whatever. Don't quote me on that.

Heh.

hahahaha my friend was doing cat sitting of my cat in his house.

when he opened a door for the utility room, my cat snuck in without him noticing, then he closed the ultity door trapped inside the room.

my friend later thought that my cat escaped the house and panicked and started printing lost posters.

but then my cat scaled ventaliation pipes and kicked open a ventalitation vent held by magnets and then returned to her baesment room location.

my friend only told me the story AFTER the cat returned from her utlity room adventure.

My God, both had a scare. So ninja

This happened to us, too, except for us it was a full month and the boy had his jaw and one eye fucked up somehow during his time away.

Ultimately, we decided we couldn't afford the corrective surgery he needed and had to put him down. Poor bastard just bit off more than he could chew running off like that. Thankfully, none of our other cats are as brave (or some would say, stupid) as he was then, including our one cat who loves the outdoors so much she'll constantly beg for people to let her outside.
