I like how I am trying to rip this CD I paid good money for (8 pounds) to put on my iPod but it wont work. It's a really great way to reward those people who actually pay for albums. Really great! I know there are programs and things to get around it but its bullshit because stuff like this doesnt hurt the pirates ever -- only legitimate buyers.

Oh.

Mis-read the title. I thought this had something to do with a P-Funk cd...

Shift doesn't work for these CD's. Like GONZO already mentioned, use CDex to rip those CD's. Select the audio tracks (track 1 is probably a data track) and rip that bitch

Don't buy them. If you can't get anywhere with CDex, Poikosoft have a nice tool for ripping.

You SHOULD buy CD's, don't believe a word what those broke-ass guys are telling you :p

And iTunes is no substitute for real CD's. Liner notes etc. are usually enough to buy a CD, along with supporting the artist itself and most importantly. Lossless tracks.

I don't buy any copy-protected CDs that make it impossible to either rip them to an MP3 player or even to listen to them on my computer at all. Hell, I download some I don't even want just to spread them. I suggest everybody else does the same. Because I'm just that much of a dick when fucked with.

Which CD?

Not all copy protected CD's are fucked up. The few that I have (Usher, Roots) play perfectly on my comp and can be ripped and upped to my iPod. I'm wondering why they even bother with this copyprtection crap if it hurts the consumer?
