Hmm... that's one thing I missed, Doug. You guys don't have air conditioning up there? Even my shitty 80 year old building has window units in every room.

If air conditioning is a foreign concept in the PAC NW, my urge to relocate is slowly dropping.

We almost never need air conditioning units due to the fact it usually doesn't get this hot here during the summer. It's actually quite a strange occurrence for it to be so hot. We actually have low 80s, high 70s temps during the summer normally which is quite nice.

Yeah, it took me awhile to get used to the concept of no AC anywhere in Seattle, but it rarely gets that hot that you notice*, IMO. I get a fine crossbreeze coming through my apartment, and it always stays relatively cool.

It was seriously 90 degrees out here this weekend? I didn't even notice.




*I'm from Atlanta, so my mileage clearly varies.

meh, it hit 110 here in Sacramento a few weeks ago, and my AC has been broken to shit for months.

I don't even think I went home for three days it was so hot. :lol

Drinky your welcome to move to canada where edmonton alberta is expecting a high tommorow of +9 celcius which for the record is a balmy 48 F. This is cold even for us folks, especially in august, it should be + 20 atleast round this time of year. + 9 is for september.

There is AC in Seattle.. it's called a fan... really a good box fan is all you usually need.. granted I have not been there in 2 years.. so it looks like that is changing :lol Time to invest in Sun Screen Doug...soon you'll be darker than me

My old house used to lack AC... and it was missed at most a couple weeks of the year, although I had a basement room so it never got hot.

And while we're on the subject, why is it that anytime that it gets a little hot in New York it becomes national news? For fucks sake, you had two skyscrapers fall on your ass, but a little hot weather and the city is in a state of emergency? Fuck you NY! Some of us have summers of 90-100 degree weather, not a few days a year.
