Governor Rick Scott of Florida signed into law today a bill removing language from the law books stating gay couples are banned from adoption. The legislation banning adoption for gay couples was originally passed in 1977.
The ban hasn't been enforced for the last 5 years due to a court ruling, but it will officially be deleted from the law book on July 1st.

State douc.... republicans are looking to introduce new legislation allowing private companies to refuse adoptions to gay couples based on religious or moral grounds. At the very least, no bill was introduced in time for this legislative session.
