Biggest Album Disappointment - ESGN, not because it sucks, but because it would have been a top 5 album if all those shitty weed carriers hadn’t ruined it.
Biggest turn around - Trap Lord, I hated the album at first. No exaggeration either, I thought it was complete garbage. But like liveloveASAP (which I also hated at first) it came on my mp3 player one day and I thought “huh I don’t remember this song”. I spent the next hour relistening to all the songs and realized while it still has some dead spots (cocaine castles, 4:02) it’s actually a really great album. Ferg is still the very definition of a fake thug though.
2014 prospect - Sparkmaster Tape.
Most unnecessarily hated album - MMLP2, it’s not aoty material by any means. But acting like every single track is garbage and em didn’t rap his ass off on several tracks just exposes you as the grumpy hip hop elitist fuckhead you pretend you aren’t. I get it, his stans are annoying as shit. He isn’t the rapper he used to be. The album definitely has a bunch of shitty songs. But the insane amount of negative hyperbole spewed about the album is just as pathetic as the dudes acting like he made a masterpiece. You are both fucking delusional.

If any of you guys like horrorcore, you should check out that Delusional Thomas (Mac Miller's alter ego tape) tape. I didn't get it at first, but after repeated listens in my car it's a top ten contender now. The beats are great and the lyrics are so fucked up, I love it. I'd quote a few of my favorite lines, but I don't wanna catch a ban lol. The pitch shifted vocals threw me off at first but they make sense and work considering what Mac was doing with the project. There's a greal Earl feature in there too. It's free and under half an hour long, give it a shot.

On a similar note, I got around to Denzel Curry's tape and it's pretty dope too. One of the better things to come from the Klan.

I don't know brehs.... Yeah nobody really excelled this year like rappers were doing for the last 3 years or so. I mean yeah the cuppard was looking bare until Fall came along, but it did come along and all things considered 2013 was a pretty strong year. Later in this post I'm just going to name drop nice albums. As for labels like MMG or TDE once again ok they didn't make moves but they didn't take drastic L's either, and for Kanye he was losing right up until he got that Adidas deal, but fuck me he got a deal from Adidas for acting like a fool, so who am I to judge? If I had to stretch maybe I would say Wale, but I never had high expectations for him so idk if it would count.
